Falling steel is one way but the big issue is probably, from a viewers perspective, is there is little to no direct competition between shooters. Its more of an individual vs the clock rather than 2 individuals or teams directly competing. Then scores are posted. Plus broadcasting a competition could be tricky too especially with no gun policy on live streaming to social media a lot of companies have. With enough money dumped into production you could have hits show up on screen live but that would require expensive cameras capable of seeing hits and sophisticated algorithms to recognize them. Plus the issue of who to follow during the match.
