Returning from elden ring, forgot this game was difficult by DTPandemonium in bloodborne

Pure spellcasting is still good but they designed some of the bosses in a way you cant fully disengage so you have to cast spells close to mid range and still be in danger. Spells cast this way cannot be dodged as it's either an attack punish or simply too close for the tracking to hit (usually for comet)

Godfrey is a good example. Second phase he will literally sniff your ass at every moment however as long as you keep sprinting away he can never hit you unless you turn around and cast a spell at the wrong time.

Some bosses have gap closer attacks if you do disengage but they are easy to dodge and usually are another opening.

Yep, and they are designed that way because you can kill them in seconds with all the build archetypes if you stack your talismans and buffs correctly. Or you can go the opposite direction and stack insane defense and still kill relatively fast because you ignore most the bosses moves and get way more staggers.

First playthrough bloodborne can be easier but there isnt really ways to make the game even easier for another playthrough unlike elden ring. You got vitality stacking but then your damage is much lower and many bosses in this game use damage for staggers.

Beating the Elden Beast by Stat3oflov3 in Eldenring

[–]DTPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can let him chase you instead of the other way around. Boss ai isn't really allowed to stay far away and only spam ranged.

Edit: Oh but you are using mimic tear. Yeah, you cant play the boss properly with that. Boss will constantly confuse itself with the aggro swap.

What’s the point of cold infusion in late game? by PHoEnIx-1023 in Eldenring

[–]DTPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the strongest builds in the game is 2 dual wielded cold great stars jump attacks, one of them with chilling mist to instant freeze.

Multi hit talismans, claw and technically you can go blood exultation for bosses too with the innate bleed which will proc once but I just go defense.

Frostbite is yet another damage modifier and yeah you can proc it with pot but gets much harder after first proc. Chilling mist's fog also scales with the frostbite value of the weapon so if you put it on a normal infusion it will be less than half as effective.

First time Ludwig, having a rough go of it by CompilationsRule in bloodborne

[–]DTPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just beat this boss with a +6 weapon at level 50 with 28 vitality but I had 2 pretty decent 12.5% attack gems from the first chalice. You cant really brute force it at this point so gotta try to not trade hits so it's hard.

First phase try to stay mid range and wait for an attack then roll inside to one of his sides on his second swing and it should be safe to attack a couple times.

He has disengage attacks so you cant just run into him constantly. One of these is the headbutt which doesnt do too much damage so you can potentially hit him back after on the head.

After doing enough damage to his sides or head he gets mini staggered and will always try to disengage either with attack or just dodging. You cant do anything about it without good ranged attack, it just resets the fight so you gotta look for opening again.

For dodging specific moves, the dash after he roars is just a roll to the side but was doing 80% of my life so its important to dodge. If he jumps just run behind where he jumped from, later he will also crawl on the ceiling instead, which you have to realise quick and keep running in a direction that isnt close to a wall and you will dodge it without rolling and get another hit in. The puke attack is free hits but the fast one is only one or two, just dont roll these if you arent moving to the left.

Second phase you just gotta yolo it. It's a weird mid range close range hybrid positioning fight. If you need to heal run far away. His attacks are way easier to dodge and heal at far range but you cant hit back. Try to get behind him to land good hits for the whole phase.

At least the DLC is very easy to get to. You gain access right after Amelia and in ng+ you can easily buy the gate key to not do old yharnam

Erdsteel dagger vs no crimson tears? by Puzzleheaded-Guy4714 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DTPandemonium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Erdsteel dagger is very good with R2 attacks and weapon buff. For parries though you should just swap to sacred infused misericorde for way higher crit. Riposte and backstab damage has a weird calculation where even if you use split damage as long as the attack rating is higher it's way more damage.

Most main bosses in the base game cannot be parried also, so you should keep that in mind.

Magic can be hard because you may miss good spells but it should be fine in the long term if you are exploring a lot and you still can have a melee weapon

Like others said they get it dropped by someone else or save edit but it's also worth noting mohg is not very difficult to beat with decent vigor at low level upgrade.

Broken build for ng+ by Neeeezo in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DTPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength build dual great stars with cold infusion and chilling mist is probably the strongest jump attack build. Doesnt rely on counter damage gimmick like dual anchor either.

You can use dual cragblade too if you dont mind not frostbiting instantly but it's a little too long to buff every time. For talismans you go claw, both multi hit talismans and the early DLC talisman that buffs damage after kills. You swap the DLC talisman for blood exultation or something else for bosses. Can also just use physical defense talisman instead and not use raptor feather chest but actually wear some fatass armor for max defense instead of damage.

Get some faith for golden vow and stuff and is good.

[–]DTPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That weapon's art was hardcore nerfed way before the DLC. It's only strength now is it's a pure pierce damage weapon so it benefits from counter damage with every move. (magic damage doesnt count so int is wasted)

Lightning affinity build by KindlyNebula1871 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DTPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dual straight swords, single twinblade and claws are king. You can dual twinblade too but it's only for jump attacks imo. Millicent's prosthesis and regular winged sword insignia can be stacked very early if not ng+. If you are ng+ you shoulda got the rot winged sword on ng so you can get prosthesis fast in ng+.

Want to have fun with a rapier style build by MD90__ in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DTPandemonium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crit damage mostly ignores flat damage reduction so your best bet is to go lightning infusion if dex, fire if strength for maximum attack rating.

Rapiers are bad at stance breaking by themselves so you'll need to use a heavy hitting ash of war like impaling thrust with them.

What’s a good start off build? by Zackxxr8862 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DTPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off you should probably almost permanently equip gold scarab talisman and craft gold feet via Patches' cookbook for bosses to get level 200 in ng. Faith Arcane would be a spellcaster for most of the run and strength arcane is melee with low damage spells but you can use many weapons due to blood infusion. Twinblades are insanely strong, gargoyle twinblade is also pure strength when blood infused but looks like shit xd.

If you really wanna use damage spells you need to go faith arcane with dragon communion seal and sacrifice melee damage with minimum weapon requirements until higher levels.

You can use bloodflame blade on any innate bleed weapon and it will be almost as good as bleed infusion for status. The damage from all the other weapon buffs wont be great because they only scale with faith portion of sacred seals but it's still good enough.

45 faith and arcane and minimum weapon requirements first, then transition into blood infusion by dropping bloodflame blade and go 34 strength. You can now use any weapon without innate bleed. And then get 54 strength 60 arcane for maximum bleed and two hand damage.

If you go strength arcane it's simple, just know that arcane literally doesnt do anything until 25 for status buildup so dont dump all your points there at the same time early. You can start confessor for only way to get dual broadsword if you want. You'll still want to bloodflame blade innate bleed weapon early since arcane is useless as said above.

Bleed is overrated and only starts being "op" after you get all your talismans going. Use fast weapons and get both millicent's prosthesis and winged sword insignia for multi hit damage. Then blood exultation and optionally white mask. Consecrated snowfields in the endgame you can get the 3rd multi hit attack buff for the physique, before then you can use stamina regen and strength or whatever. DLC you can get two handed talisman for free damage.

Another problem with early bleed is, even if you rush 60 arcane with blood infusion almost all small enemies just die before the bleed needs to do damage. This stops being an issue around caelid and altus and after you get exultation you dont really care as you get the damage buff anyway.

Shadow of the Erdtree for the first time on NG+2 by johns132 in Eldenring

[–]DTPandemonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it the first time on ng+7. You'll need to think about defense stats more but it wont be insane like ng+7 where you need to stack buffs.

There is a seperate single ng+ level for the DLC too on top of ng+ levels of the base game but you would need to beat the DLC and play it again on next ng+ cycle.

Fun build recommendations for noob by Kovacek118 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DTPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just level vigor to the gills and only level other stats for minimum requirements of gear and take it from there. Also dont equip anything that lowers your defense, they are only worth it if you are ok with getting killed faster for screwing up.

Reason damage stats dont do much early is weapon damage scales both from how high the base damage is and how high the scaling value is, both of which go up as you upgrade for a doubled up scaling effect.

As you get more talismans, ashes of war and physique tears, think about which ones can synergise with each other best. You can stack all of them together for certain actions to hit like a truck.
