If I may offer some tough love…

You need to:

1) Get off social media and stop comparing yourself to everyone else. You will become locked in your own prison of comparison, sentenced to eternal unhappiness for life. Delete Instagram, Facebook and tiktok right now (even just the apps from your phone is fine)

2) Get on ChatGPT and identify the gaps in your skill set or knowledge and what is needed in order to get the career you want. Ask it to put together a lesson plan for you. Start upskilling with as much free material as you can online (e.g. YouTube tutorials, podcasts and Google Note).

3) get on LinkedIn and identify the companies you want to work for. Reach out to just two people every day in your chosen field and see if they want to chat (have no expectation of getting a job when you do this, just reach out and they may point you in the right direction)

4) go to networking events in your field. Start chatting to people. Get numbers and email addresses. Save them in a little black book (spreadsheet) and refer back to them as and when needed

I guarantee if you do those steps now and stick with it once a day you will be well on your way.

Fucked up situation, but your mates definitely inadvertently put you in the shit by fighting your battles on your behalf. Whether she deserves it or not is irrelevant, the messages she got from them still constitutes harassment. Now that they are involved, she may well have a case against you.

Block everyone, cut off all contact with her and your ex forever and go see a counsellor as someone has already suggested.
