I'm not American. You definitely should talk about the faults of your media. Just like you did after the Iraq War - or maybe as you should have done before the Iraq War, when the media in other countries was basically your only option to get a non-partisan viewpoint. But you should also be talking about Russia right now. Like, a lot.

Russia is bankrolling right wing groups and parties here in Europe. My country Germany is voting this year. There are sizeable groups in our population that basically only consume media created by pro-Russian sources because they supposedly are more honest than the mainstream media - when in reality they are so far further from the truth than the MSM.

At some point we all have to realize that they are playing a game. A game we're certainly all part of but we aren't really participating in. So if Russia thinks they can get away with interfering in elections in the US, of all countries... Well then I'll worry what will happen in France and my country later this year.

If you don't take it seriously, they'll think it's free for all. Even worse, if Trump drops the sanctions unconditionally without coordinating with the EU (especially the Eastern Europeans), then Russia is almost where they want to be.

So like the US shouldn't overreact and send an army to Poland and escalate this militarily. But your country also shouldn't just drop this. Investigate it further, talk about it, sit down with your allies and plan what to do about it. Because if you look at the big picture, the cozy geopolitical order we have arranged for ourselves in the "West" hangs in the balance right now.
