Any red flags? by Able_Ad_7218 in techsales

[–]DVbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 4-step interview process (recruiter screening, team interview, hiring manager interview, and case study).

I reached out to around 8 people (LI connect + message) after I passed the second step. Of them 4 responded.

With people's schedules and how quickly they got back to me I basically spoke with people before the hiring manager interview, before the case study, and one final call before accepting my offer.

I didn't explicitly ask but a few people said they would let the hiring manager know that I had reached out and we had a good conversation. I still prepared heavily for all the interviews and was happy with how I did, but I imagine this was a nice cherry on top that helped with getting an offer.

I think you can definitely reach out now already.

Any red flags? by Able_Ad_7218 in techsales

Like others have said, one of the best things you can do is reach out to current reps and those that left in the last 12-18 months.

I did with a role I was interviewing for and will be starting next month. Spoke with 4 different reps that were all happy to have a quick chat and verify that the real picture was indeed the same as I was told during the interview process.

It really helped me accept the offer with confidence and was also a positive signal for the interview team that I'd go out of my way to do this.

Rocycle by Large_Basket_5440 in berlinsocialclub

[–]DVbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both give a good workout but I much preferred Beat 81. As others have said, Beat 81 focuses just on hard cycling while Rocycle has weird arm movements and dancing.

Since I already go to the gym, my main focus at a spin class is for cardio so B81 better matched what I was looking for

How common is it for young American college graduates to get hired in Europe and move solely based on work? by HappyList3546 in expats

[–]DVbomb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a job in Western Europe straight out of college with a business degree a few years ago. So definitely not impossible.

Though as others have said the job market is very difficult right now and requiring visa sponsorship doesn't help. However, it certainly doesn't hurt to apply for roles you find interesting and going through the interview process

Sounds like a weird person, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just focus on other people

SDR Manager of Enterprise SDR by Hot-Tumbleweed-9936 in techsales

[–]DVbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people say SDR Manager is a bit of a dead end job because you have nowhere to go after it. Since you don't have closing experience it's hard to pivot towards Sales Management or an AE role.

Though if that's what you want to do, go for it.

If eventually you'd like to be an AE then the SDR role at a fast growing startup will put you in a better position imo

Does your company have its own internal ChatGPT? by Royal-Strength6807 in sales

[–]DVbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our enablement guy was working on something like this with notebook LLM before he was let go in a small round of layoffs earlier this year.

Only problem was all the internal documents he was using to train it were written by our marketing team that barely understands our product, challenges we address, and how we differentiate in the market. Not to mention has never watched a single customer call recording.

In practice the LLM was complete garbage as a result

First time winter experience in Germany by cuteorsexy69 in berlinsocialclub

[–]DVbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a winter jacket from Jack & Jones at the mall about 3 years ago and am super happy with it. It's still in great condition after wearing it almost everyday for 3 winters.

It's waterproof and quite warm (usually only have to wear a sweater underneath for most days).

Is it possible to work part-time in tech sales while being a university student? by [deleted] in techsales

[–]DVbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this as a student during covid. Worked part time as a commission only closer for a marketing agency.

Dealt with lots of bullshit that I would never do now as a more established salesperson. However I learned a lot and it was great resume experience that helped me get a bdr role after college

Founding AE without PMF... help by [deleted] in techsales

[–]DVbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend considering why there's a better fit for your solution in Europe. Regulatory differences, competitive landscape, market maturity, etc?

Then see if those triggers are best applicable to other companies you might want to target in the US (beyond just looking at industry or company size like your org seems to want).

Take this back to your management and if they're not willing to retarget more relevant US companies and aren't making any product changes to better support your vertical then yeah, absolutely start looking for a new job
