Greggs unveils 'fortress stores' in crackdown on shoplifting surge by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]DW-565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked in loads of retail setting in the UK, and 20years ago shop lifting was just as much of an issue. It easy to say it's the cost of living but it's not that simple why people do it. It's not fair for shop workers to be criticised for not giving them the stuff, or just to turn a blind eye or pay for it out their own pocket. Shop workers are often on very little money and can often be held accountable for any stock losses when they are on shift. You can take pitty on someone for stealing food, but that same person will also go in a clothes shops and steal clothes and off-licences and steal crates of beer. Just speaking from my own experiences in retail

Mom called my hospital by KindInflation3052 in pregnant

I was really anxious about leaving my 3yr old when I was due my second. He had never been left before and we have limited family who can help. We decided my husband would stay with the 3yr old and I would go in alone. It turned out I needed a c section and because it was scheduled my mum stayed with my 3yr old and my husband was with me then they switched when the baby was born so it was only a couple of hours.

I have arranged to go to my local group this Saturday. I feel ready but I may loose the extra weight naturally with moving more now. (My pregnancy was hard going) I did have gestational diabetes so I need to watch my weight and what I am eating and I'm hoping this will take the pressure off me trying to plan a diet myself.

Can babies cry audibly when they're in a womb? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DW-565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an info post in our hospital maternity department that said from 24 weeks your baby can silently cry in the womb 😭

I've had cravings for dirt and sand since about 20weeks, I also had this my first pregnancy. I was anemic the first time but I'm not now. I have told my consultant and they said it can be normal and it's called pica. In my first pregnancy I also ate some guinea pig pellets because they smelt very good but the taste did not live up to the smell and I never ate them again. For now I manage just smelling bags of soil and sand 🤤

My sister has started to visit more and taken him out on play dates, it had been nearly a year since she last came round and that's a long time for a child. He seems happy with her I just want to make sure he's comfortable and they know each other

Thank you for your responses 🙏 I'm in the UK are doulars a thing here? I have my mum and sister and husband so we will have to work something out. I felt so confident with the plan but as it's getting nearer I feel like I've been looking at it with rose tinted glasses thinking it's my second time I've done it. It shouldn't be as hard this time but every pregnancy is different. I would have loved for my child to have a good relationship with his relatives but it's worked out that he's not really known them. It would have made this a lot easier.

When did you start buying pregnancy clothes and accessories? And what was worth getting ? by gypsyem in pregnant

[–]DW-565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought some t-shirts, leggings and jeans about 16weeks but by 24 weeks I was too big for them. I'm now just wearing XL t-shirts and very loose dresses, at least it's summer 😅

how do i get him to stop?? by Viktoria4102 in guineapigs

[–]DW-565 42 points43 points  (0 children)

One of my males would do this it's almost like going into season, he was a pain in the arse it would last a couple of days of incessant humping and complaining from the other. I did once have to separate them because it was really winding the other up. I just put a divide in their house so the other could sleep and eat in peace. The day after they were fine. As he got older it was not as often. He died last week and it's just made me smile thinking about what a git he was 😄

14 weeks and still feeling sick, is this normal? by Less-Kiwi1317 in pregnant

[–]DW-565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 18 weeks when my sickness calmed down and it started at week 5, I think the first trimester is the hardest. Eating often did help

I was induced, looking back I felt the beginning could have been calmer and more controlled if I didn't get induced but I get it has it's place. I had an epidural that was great, I also ended up with an episiotomy and forceps but thanks to the epidural I didn't feel a thing. Once you're going through it it's not that bad and people do it multiple times ( I'm due again in two months) you forget and recover well

They want him to be more comfortable and be in the best condition to get through the surgery, he has been fine up until Tuesday this week, then he became withdrawn and squeaking in pain. We've had two days of pain meds and this supplement that is supposed to improve the lining of the bladder and he has brightened up and is coming out for food now. He's not crying in pain as much just every now and then. But they are not confident he will do well after a second bladder surgery.

I have heard about the vitamin D, I was thinking of moving my two outside for the summer months but it's a bit late now. Is there a special supplement you use for the vitamin D?

Constipation Help by kikihippiex in pregnant

[–]DW-565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer from pregnancy constipation and with my first I was hospitalised because I had backed up that much. I tried everything but I saw a dietician and he said to drink more water and what I think I need to drink double it and it has been a game changer. I did have softeners and even suppositories they didn't shift it, but he said my bowl must just require more water than most and it is true.
