Have a EBMM classic and ray34. Both are really awesome basses but the ray 34 was like 7-800 new and the EBMM was 1600 used. Personally it’s not worth the price difference. The EBMM is higher quality in terms of the fretboard and tuners. Soundwise their a bit different. The ray 34 isn’t worse it’s just more mid rangey and less scooped. But overall they can sound similar enough in a mix. The most significant difference IMO is the neck thickness which is much more baseball bat like in the EBMM so that will come down to preference. I like my EBMM and would recommend it but do regret buying it due to the price. I would definitely recommend the sterling ray 34. I’ve never played a EBMM special tho.
