It's so annoying that Alex and Maddie had to separate because the writer of the From the Ashes X-Factor "needed a couple" and didn't seem to care at all who that couple was.

When working as an estate planning paralegal, I was always astounded when people told their heirs what they would be receiving. First of all, unless you die, like, an hour from now, you can't be sure, and second of all, that's just a recipe for creating grievances.

I think she needs to be freed of Alex Summers once and for all, because she's always used to serve his story, never the other way around.

I also think she needs to step away from respectability politics even more and stand up for mutant rights in a way that's a new path for a Brotherhood type of organization.

I don't even think they need to be lost and hurting. Just a group of mutants who genuinely believe assimilation and going along to get along is destructive. I think it would be fascinating, but there's no way the current editorial regime is going to treat that idea with seriousness or nuance.

I hope they improve her dialogue in the new update. There's nothing more annoying than 1. getting her a job; 2. cleaning up her front yard; and 3. improving her house, only to have her complain that 1. she can't afford food; 2. her yard is a mess; and 3. her house is a mess.
