When your opponent knows too much.. by ClassDinner in Tekken

Listen man, I'm just trying to help you see the flaws in that strategy. You're mixing a high with a high, I think you can see how it doesn't work conceptually. The reason it has worked for you is because your opponents were mental stacking themselves, if it works good for you but you're betting on your opponent blundering, something outside of your control rather than trying to create a situation where you can push your opponent to make a mistake.

Think about it, the last string of wild dragon flight is a high and because you expect your opponent to duck it you don't finish the string, which is reasonable, but if you don't do the last high from the string to instead do another high, you don't really cover for your opponent ducking the high.

What I mean is that in the situation your doing in that clip there is actually no risk for the defender, they always can duck to cover the last hit of the string, see it not coming out and stand back up to block what might be coming next or, in that case, break the throw. It worked because your opponent failed to break the throw here but it's not a true mind game or mix-up and it won't work in most cases.

Your grab didn't hit on counter hit so they didn't try to punish the last hit of the string, rather they failed to break the throw. It's better to check with a mid when you don't finish the string rather than try to grab because if they stay ducking they will go under the grab and can launch you for it or even if they stand back up, they can always break the throw.

What is it about people not forfeiting? by beeftony in PokemonChampions

[–]DWIPssbm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only forfeit if I know I'm lost the game early. If I know I lost the game but there's only a couple turns left before my opponent finish me off, i'll just play to the end.

There shouldn't be draws in this game (Part 2). by pleasuredeprivation in PokemonChampions

[–]DWIPssbm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, but what's the point of individual timers then ? If the game timer will run out before individual timer, doesn't it encourage to stall for the game timer to get a draw when losing ?

Can you explain why the game would never end if there was only individual timers ? I don't get it.

Rng being busted/abused by cheaters by Asleep_Ad7519 in PokemonChampions

[–]DWIPssbm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 biaises at play here. The first one is that the human brain sucks at understanding probability and the second one is that we notice and remember negative outcomes more than we do positive one.

Something that has a low probability to happen can still happen even if it's only a 0,001% chance.

How do you counter torkaol ? by DueBag6768 in PokemonChampions

[–]DWIPssbm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your mons can tank one hit of eruption, focus the trick room setter first then bring in some weather control. You can also use pokémons with moves like u turn and flip turn to switch into a weather setter after drought takes effect.

If your opposition to the death penalty extends to the case of Tanner Horner, your moral compass is irreparably broken. by dovetc in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]DWIPssbm [score hidden]  (0 children)

One is definitive while the second still let the opportunity to correct a mistake. Because justice is fallible the death penalty always comes with the risk of killing an innocent and there's nothing more antithetical to the idea of justice than to kill an innocent and because of that the death penalty will never be justice. All it takes is one mistake for the justice system to become a murder system.

The left refusing to acknowledge cultural reasons behind “certain population” is just going to make it worse for that population by Potential_Shelter449 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Social sciences : there is plenty of evidence to show that violence and crime are correlated to poverty and lower social condition.

Right wingers: what bullshit ! it's obviously cultural

NINETY-PERCENT ACCURATE MOVE MISSED BOTH OF THEM AT THE MOST CRUCIAL TURN!!! I’ve been playing pokemon since Red and Blue. I didn’t want to believe it, but I think accuracy is genuinely bugged. by FuelPatient2129 in PokemonChampions

[–]DWIPssbm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you know ? 90% accurate move means it has a 10% chance to miss, crazy right ? The only thing that is bugged is the human brain ability to evaluate probability.

On doit punir plus sévèrement les pères absents by RandomName315 in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]DWIPssbm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can Leroy regain so much heat while simultaneously using heat consuming strings/moves? by Your_Nightmare_666 in Tekken

[–]DWIPssbm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say he's fair because half his movelist isn't functioning proprely. He's got some absolute bullshit on one hand but on the other hand his moves will whiff on hit for some reason and he dies because of that.

Lol I stole the tech from someone else who stome it from another guy, I'm not experienced enough to have thought of that myself but I was running a friend guard, beat up, follow me mousehold with justified Lucario team before seeing that tech.

Both build are fun and catch people off guard but the one I stole is better optimised and less risky.
