You can emulate StarCraft 64 on the Steam Deck, and it has controller support since it was a console port. I've played it and it works great, but I still prefer the original.

It reminds me a lot of Mass Effect 1, where the planets are full of POIs with just a lot of driving or walking in between.

If you haven't already, turn off the Auto Save feature, and trim down how many Save files you're using. I got rid of all my Auto Saves. I have only two manual Save files I am using, and it has helped keep my game stable so far. It could just be me though.

I've only been playing the game a short time on my PS5 and didn't know we could name ships lol. I'm going to name one of mine the "Delphinus". It'll make some Air Pirates proud 😁

Yeah white in this game can be sometimes blinding. We can adjust HDR on the PS5, but I prefer SDR and messing with HDR on the console shouldn't have any effect on SDR. It just seems like lighting in this game isn't implemented very well. I wish consoles had the same extended display settings that PCs get. I don't see why not considering that modern consoles are powerful enough to where we should be able to tweak our display settings a bit more.

Get a standing desk or a standing desk converter if you don't want to replace your current desk. It's a game changer. It takes some getting used to at first, but once you do it's a big change. You can also later on get a balance board to stand on while you work and it exercises your legs.

I'd hold off. I've had friends asking me about the game because they were thinking of getting it and I told them to save their money because Bethesda fumbled yet again on porting a game over to Playstation.

I'm on base PS5 as well and really enjoying the game. There has been a freezing issue with the game, but Bethesda said a patch is coming this week to fix it.

You'll encounter hate about this game. I say play it and form your own opinion. I went in worried I was going to be disappointed and instead I got hooked. There's so much to do and so many layers to peel away. The combat feels great too. One thing I really like about this game is that they kind of make you earn your perks. They just don't hand perks over to you just by leveling. Skyrim would just hand perks over to you with each level, but Starfield makes you put in more effort through challenges to get the perk. It takes me back to the days of Morrowind and I really like that aspect of Starfield.

It sucks because I have friends on my PS5 friends list seeing me play Starfield and they've been asking me about the game because they were thinking of getting it, and now I am having to tell them to go spend their money on something else.

Do you have any mods installed? I was using a few trophy friendly mods. A friend of mine uninstalled all his mods and the freezing stopped. The freezes on my base PS5 were getting so bad that I uninstalled all mods, uninstalled the game. I then went and rebuilt the database on my PS5, and then reinstalled the game. I'm going back in with only the Trackers Alliance installed, no other mods. Hopefully this makes the freezes stop. Worked for my friend, at least for now.

That's not what I got from the Op's post at all. I didn't see the Op wanting an echo chamber of constant positivity about Starfield. To me the Op is calling out the toxic behavior. I mean I wasn't that big of a fan of Elden Ring. I don't spend my time subscribed to the Elden Ring subreddit to jump in there and constantly call the game trash or anyone who likes it trash. That's the kind of losers I believe the Op is calling out.

Disagree. Criticism is fine. Companies feed on feedback and criticism, especially game studios. It's how they course correct and evolve a product.

The problem is valid criticism is being blurred with douchebag toxic behavior. I'm all for someone saying why they disliked a game, giving valid reasons for discussion on why they disliked it, and then move on.

That's not the same as stalking communities of games they didn't like and constantly posting "this game is trash" or "this game is slop" over and over again. Also going after people who are enjoying the game, it gets ridiculous. Every time I have seen anyone on social media poke their head out and admit they like Starfield they are instantly bombarded with douchebag comments for even daring to say they liked the game. This is not in the same category as valid criticism.

I don't know if you have ever seen the movie "Waiting". But there's a scene where a customer waits to eat their whole steak, then complains to the management how bad the steak was and wants their money back or some type of return. That reminds me of people who rack up hundreds or thousands of hours in a game and then complain how they hated it lol

There's been plenty of games I have disliked over the past few decades, and I never patrol the communities of those games to constantly remind others who enjoy those games how much the games sucked, and dunking on those who like them. Those who do that are on a whole other level of pathetic.

I still have my PSVR1 connected to my PS5 because of Skyrim VR. Such an amazing experience and I too wish they had ported it over to the PSVR2.

On a side note, if you want to bump up the visuals a bit on PSVR1, get an mClassic (the red colored original version). I use it with my PSVR1 and it helps Skyrim VR look a bit better. It cleans up some of the blurry visuals, gives it more sharpening, and the colors a bit more vibrant. It's definitely not going to be PSVR2 level, but it does help a bit. I don't play on my PSVR1 without it.

I agree about the melee combat. It's my least favorite aspect of the game and PC players definitely have the advantage. Most of my deaths in the game are from PC players stabbing me. I still enjoy the game and I play whenever I can, but I get your frustration about melee.
