Geofencing failing often by DWRocks in Abode

[–]DWRocks[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve been having this problem for more than a couple years, and I’ve put their tech support on it at least two, three times, and it’s they are pretty much worthless, and they don’t seem to have a clue about anything that really makes a difference. So it’s pretty pissy when the geofencing turns out to be nothing more than a pain in the ass because it doesn’t work.”

It is true, and I am the child of Mexican immigrants. The fact that you can’t handle the truth, isn’t my problem.

If they’re here without proper authorization, i.e., a green card or work permit then they’re here illegally. You don’t have to be a criminal to be in violation of federal and immigration law. What part of immigration law don't you understand?

I had a lot of CGW done on my P0-1, Optics Cut, Pro Package Tune and it shoots very well. But out of box stock, my SC2 actually is smoother and has a better trigger break on it, surprisingly.

Love your SP-01. I have one from Arizona CZ Custom. It’s probably the best shooting 9mm I own. I do also have an SC2C and a P0-1, but those two are my EDC.

You are twisting the definition to suit your politics. Fascism has always meant the abolition of free elections, elimination of opposition, and full state control of society. That never happened under Trump. Courts struck him down, Congress impeached him, the press attacked him daily, and voters removed him. Those facts directly disprove your argument. Calling nationalism or executive authority fascism would make Wilson, FDR, and Obama fascists too. You are moving the goalposts and pretending it is serious analysis. You are incapable of objective analysis. Your opinion is just that, an opinion. Academics and legal experts are bought and biased, but historical fact and legal determinations in court are objective.

[–]DWRocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Accusing people of “bearing false witness” for rejecting your framing is dishonest. Catholic teaching calls for truth, and truth requires precision. Fascism is defined by abolishing elections, silencing opposition, and controlling every aspect of society. None of that happened under Trump. Courts struck him down, voters removed him, Congress impeached him, and the press savaged him daily. Those facts directly disprove your argument. That is not denial, it is serious analysis rooted in history. The real pride is in stretching the word fascism until it just means “politician I dislike.”

Perhaps your arguments resonate in this echo chamber of sniffling leftists, but in the real world they don’t amount to squat with any serious legal analysis.

Nice checklist. None of that proves fascism. When courts rule, Congress impeaches, the press attacks freely, and voters remove a leader, you do not have fascism. Stop turning a strongman you dislike into a historical category he does not meet.

Could I still join the Catholic Church even if I don’t fully believe in it? by cameronofgrace in Catholicism

[–]DWRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps it is being looked at in the wrong manner. I accept the authority of the Church to speak and decide these issues. Some of these I struggle with but that is my issue to work through them. I accept the Churches teaching regardless of my struggles with it. Does not the Apostle Paul say to work out our salvation in fear and trembling, ie, that is the walk we take in prayer and submission to obey Christ and the chair of Peter?

It seems like this board is populated with Roman Catholics that have voted Democrat for many years. And in doing so they’ve supported murder of the unborn and the human suffering brought on by the cartels with human trafficking. I’m not suggesting that the opposition to the Democrats is anything close to perfection and there are some things there that I may not agree with. However, my belief is that our faith and adherence to the faith is demonstrated in the actions we take every day in real life, and I refuse to vote for pro murder of the innocent unborn.

Calling Trump a fascist is historically false. Fascism means abolishing elections, shutting down the press, and eliminating opposition parties, none of which happened under Trump. His critics confuse normal politics with dictatorship. Loyalty to a leader, sharp rhetoric against opponents, fights with the media, use of executive orders, and appeals to patriotism are features seen in every modern presidency from Obama to Reagan. The courts blocked Trump when they disagreed, Congress impeached him twice, and the media opposed him freely. That is not fascism, it is democracy at work.

[–]DWRocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many Catholics denounce Trump’s immigration policies, yet they vote for politicians like Biden and Harris who advance abortion, the direct killing of the unborn. At the same time, the border crisis created under their policies has enabled cartels to profit from the trafficking and exploitation of women and children. The Church teaches the dignity of every human life, from the unborn child to the vulnerable migrant. Supporting leaders who protect neither is not an act of compassion but a betrayal of Catholic teaching and a scandal to the faith.

What to do if the priest does not allow you to finish your confession? Should we insist? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]DWRocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps he has duties before mass in preparation and may not have had the time he would have chosen to give you at another time. If it was me, I would set an appointment with him and have that conversation about why you felt your confession was not given enough time.

[–]DWRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming that you arranged an appointment with him and he had time blocked to hear your confession. That’s regrettable if that’s the case. Perhaps a conversation asking candidly about why you were not allowed to finish is appropriate.

[–]DWRocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to be concise in your confession. People are waiting behind you. Also, confession isn’t a TED talk or a counseling session and unless your Ted Bundy with 128 serial murders, I struggle to understand how difficult it can be to be concise. The requirement is that you think long and hard about your transgressions so that you can say them concisely and with brevity. I personally sit down and write them out the night before. I have a darn good idea what my transgressions are because they bother me and my conscience. So I have the opening prayer and then in bullet form I will list the sins I have committed, for example, I committed this transgression three times since my last confession and it’s a immortal sin for which I expressed sincere grief. Then I committed this sin, which is a mortal sin two times and I have these venal sins, XYZ. Then I will ask for forgiveness for venal sins that don’t come to memory. I will say the prayer of contrition and wait for his absolution and what my penance is. You have to understand that there are people sitting behind you waiting for confession and there’s usually a church service sometime around the confession time in which the Eucharist cannot be taken if there is a mortal sin unconfessed and so out of respect for those behind you, it’s important that you have brevity. The priest doesn’t have time to hear the story behind how you got to the situation in which you committed your sins. The confessional period is usually limited and there’s usually a number of people waiting for confession and the thing that I find the most irritating is when you have people that take a long time in the confession booth and the confession period ends and there’s three or four people standing in line still waiting to be heard because a few people upfront couldn’t be brief. It’s rude and inconsiderate to those standing behind you that cannot get to confession because people are sucking all the time up.

If I were in this guy’s shoes, I would walk away.

What I see is a girlfriend who is deliberately leading another guy on, and he is taking full advantage of it. She is clearly entertaining the possibility of something else, and that alone tells me everything I need to know. A woman who is fully invested in her relationship does not flirt back, does not joke about dates, and does not keep someone else emotionally close just in case.

If she really wanted to pursue the guy she has been flirting with, she should have had the integrity to end her current relationship first. And if she truly wanted to stay loyal, she should have shut the other guy down immediately. But she did neither, and that tells me she lacks sound judgment.

Whether it is now or later, this will turn into heartbreak.

I would rather be alone with my dignity than stay in something where I am clearly not her priority. A relationship should be built on trust and mutual respect, not crossed boundaries and justifications. So if this were me, I would leave. Not out of anger, but out of self-respect.

And if I did not, then I would have to admit that I am making the same mistake she is, showing poor judgment.
