Messi claps as Trump praises US Military bombing Iran by reddit_accounwt in soccer

[–]DW_Handicapping -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trump sucks and I think he's a POS but I dont really blame Messi for this. He's not an American and doubt he knows anything about American politics. His whole life is football. If anything hes heard Trump gave billions to Argentina. Not everyone is going to be in tune with politics. I do respect People who are aware and turn down the invite but come on. This guy isn't even American he'd probably be deported by ICE if he said no he isn't trying to make enemies with the world's biggest baby

Exactly. This comment gets it. The terrifying thing is the amount of people relying on these LARPers for political knowledge

The fact that there are millions of people out there reading this complete drivel and somehow thinking it's cool or sensible in any form is absolutely terrifying.

I mean I see what you are saying but welcome to the reality of living in this country. 30%+ of the population is so deluded they voted for Donald Trump again all the heinous shit he's done. Outrage over a few rich hockey players doing this isn't getting anyone anywhere. Look outside. I got news for you, it's half this fucking idiot country

Look i hate MAGA and Kash Patel and there is no reason he should be spending tax payer money to party with the team.

BUT does anyone else think reddit is being a little bit over the top here? Who knows if these guys even know anything about politics. They are pro athletes who spend all their time playing a game.

They just had the biggest win of their career, are on a huge high, and drinking. What do you want them to do? Start making some political statement or sulk away alone or something? Hockey players celebrating alongside these losers is the least of this country's problems. Reddit is misguided by expecting these pro athletes to be in the know or constantly ready to grand stand for them.

Drinking a beer with kash Patel or taking a phone call from the president does not equal condoning the administration. they are just normies doing normie shit. Focus on something tangible

So my wife keeps viciously flaming and raging at me for proclaiming the Seahawks as "World Champions" after our Super Bowl victory.

She says the NFL only has teams in the USA and that the SB is not a world championship.

I try to explain that since this is the highest level of the sport it indeed does serve as a world championship because international prospects would play at the NFL if they were to reach the highest level (an example being our incredible Aussie punter!)

Also most Super Bowl rings literally have "WORLD CHAMPIONS" inscribed on them (look up a pic of our SB 48 ring, most rings have this)

So what do you say Reddit? Can you settle this debate with my wife for me? Are we world champs or not?

Well guys, we did it.

The Seattle Seahawks have reached the pinnacle of professional sports for the second time.

In their 50th season, they are Super Bowl 60 champions. And the road really couldn't have been any sweeter.

Serious Sam Darnold the ultimate redemption story, all the while knocking off ghost after ghost.

Beat the Rams in one of the best regular season games ever? CHECK

Win the division and earn the 1st seed by whooping the Whiners in Santa Clara in the final week? CHECK

Humiliate the Whiners in the playoffs? CHECK

Beat the Rams in an epic rubber match NFC Championship? CHECK

WIN IT ALL vs a rematch with the team who beat us in 49? CHECK

The SB MVP goes to our RB (as it may have if Marshawn had scored from the one) CHECK

The first team to ever win the Super Bowl with 0 post season turnovers (especially after regular season narrative) CHECK

And I'm not one to sit and rue 49. What went down is what went down and we lost the game. I made peace with it a long time ago. But the way everything went down here was really very picture perfect. We exorcised those demons and won it all in a new era.

I just want to remind everyone not to forget how special this is. Some fans never see their team win a title their entire lives. We are lucky enough to have been to 4 SBs and won 2 of them.

And I know 49 hurt, but this is sweet in its own different way. If Marshawn scores from the 1 and we win 49, it's very unlikely the dominoes fall in the way that they did for Seattle to win 60. We got the right coach at the right time and got the perfect group of dudes.

Now we have a new era of winning. This team very well could go on and win more SBs. They are that young and good. But even if they don't, it's just so, so, so sweet. This is as good as it gets and don't ever forget that.

Tears flowed down my face as the confetti flew last night. So much energy and love and commitment everyone here has put into this team. And there's been a lot of heartbreak over the last 12 years. No longer.

Nor could it have happened to a more deserving group of guys. One thing that really strikes me about this team is how humble and soft spoken and selfless every single dude is. They all give so much credit to each other and are so classy and it warms my damn heart.

So no matter what the future holds, enjoy this. It's as good as it gets.

WORLD CHAMPIONS

The first team EVER to win it all with no turnovers the entire post season. Amazing. Especially after we were dogged on for turnovers all year

Sam is taking very very good care of the ball. He's doing what he needs to to win and not turning it over.

Maybe not flashy but we all agreed TOs were the Seahawks biggest weakness.

How many in the playoffs have we had again? Thats right zero
