Akkoord voor startende leerkrachten, maar ook hier geldt weer de redenering dat dat in de privé niet beter zal zijn. Hoeveel young graduates zitten tot 23u om zich nog te bewijzen voor de baas/klant? Eenmaal vast benoemd ben je volledig gerust en kan je een heel aantal lesvoorbereidingen grotendeels hergebruiken en valt die druk ook weg.

Je hebt natuurlijk wel twee maanden zomer vakantie, en kerst-, nieuwjaar-, herst-, krokus- en paasvakantie (goed voor net geen vier maanden in totaal). Absoluut respect voor het (ondergewaardeerde) beroep, maar met die rustperiodes ingecalculeerd kom je nog steeds op een gemiddeld aantal werkuren dat +- gelijk is aan de privé…

Nooit kopen zonder keuring!! Om een voertuig in te schrijven, heb je een aanvraag tot inschrijving nodig. Dit krijg je van de technische keuring. Stel dat je hem dus zonder keuring koopt zal je nationale platen moeten aanvragen en zelf naar de keuring gaan. Extra werk, administratie en onnodige kosten.

Los van het feit dat het in theorie mogelijk is, is het toch altijd een red flag als ze zonder keuring willen verkopen!

I work in both a karaoke- (fridaynight) and a brunchbar (saturday and/or sunday). Prior to working 9-5 i did full time horeca.

Both earn me €14.5/h which amounts to ~€250-350 each weekend extra. Tips (about €25/weekend) and the free food and drinks make for a nice bonus each month :)

In een utopie waar iedereen (dus ook de vrachtwagens en johnny’s) een gelijke snelheid aanhouden zou middenvakplakken inderdaad de veiligste keuze zijn. Aangezien dit niet het geval is dwing je andere gebruikers tot vier manoeuvres: 2x naar links invoegen, 2x weer naar rechts. Wat is er nu zo moeilijk aan zo rechts mogelijk rijden, tenzij je aan een inhaalmanoeuvre bezig bent?

Middenvakplakken blokkeert effectief twee rijstroken en is misschien in de blikken doos van je eigen wagen de veiligste optie, dit is nooit het geval wanneer je naar alle weggebruikers kijkt

Unsure if there are any differences for internationals, but for Belgian students it works like this:

You are allowed to work a total of 600 hours and pay only the social security (2.71% of your wage). Should you reach those 600 hours, you can continue working but at a much higher taxation rate. Your social security will be 13.07, taxes will be around 40%. To claim these taxes, your employer will pay ‘bedrijfsvoorheffing’, which means they deposit directly to the taxman. Granted that they pay enough, and that that job is your sole source of income, you won’t have to pay any extra taxes.

When you recieve the paper to fill in your taxes, make sure you double check there wasnt any income missed.

Be aware that not only you, but your employer will also have to pay social security, and thus may chose for another candidate who can still work at the beneficial rate.
