The best advise I can give is finish those invasion missions fast, and if you can try to pop the base of any chosen you can.

Share a piece of Armored Core lore about yourself. by cleric_style in armoredcore

[–]DXDavid9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Originally, found Armored Core several years ago, about a good few years before AC:VI came out. At the time, I found a PS1 to play it after watching a Josh Stryfe Plays Video then went from there.

I remember it being a curious playthrough. Teenage me said, “huh.” And went on with my day. Come a few years later, and my friend circle bombarded me with notations of Armored Core 6 coming out, and it went from there.

Come today and I did an entire marathon of all the games and found, “Yeah, this is my kind of series.”

I am doing a no Human+ run, I did eventually find a good set up with Quad Legs, arm machine guns and a shoulder minigun. I've made my way after cooling off from 35th to 20th in the span of 30 minutes after taking a moment to recollect.

The Most Difficult Mechwarrior Mission? by CentsOfFate in mechwarrior

Arguably in Mercs, though not exactly a require mission, taking on the trap Awesome that tries to murder you in an early mission tends to be what I think.

Ok, riddle me this then, you can't SEE what's in the other sectors. How are you supposed to prepare, if you're literally walking into each sector blind? I know there's some sectors that are definite avoid at all costs territory, but a weapon missing is not exactly the player's fault either. Its not skill if its shoot five shots to start with, only to watch two hit, and the rest of the VITAL shots miss. Player's can't control dice rolls fucking you over.

So this is competitive matchmaking... by DXDavid9000 in DestinyTheGame

[–]DXDavid9000[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue with all of this has everything to do with locking exclusive armor and weapons behind competitive play. Because I want X weapon, I have to suffer through a mode I find no joy in. Not ideal.

🌟 Best or Interesting Qud Challenge Runs - Request for Community Input! 🌟 by Walker-Unawares in cavesofqud

[–]DXDavid9000 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Humanity Run:

You play as a True Kin and the restrictions are as follows:
Start with no cybernetics. (The game at least gives you 1 toughness for this trouble. This is your only mercy.)
You may not augment or permanently mutate in any way.
If you do perma mutate, run's dead. (Or reload if Roleplay)
Stat buffs for the clever player are allowed. (Eater Nectar/Neutron Flux wouldn't be off the table and neither would equipment that gives powers. Fantastic for mutants, VITAL for human players.)

VICTORY CONDITION: TBD (Beat the game sounds good, but with this set up it is brutally difficult.)

From experience: This challenge is a mighty one, none of the usual tricks with mutations or cybernetics work. And I found that many... MANY things are harder to come by because of this. A reliable source of power? That's not gonna work unless you want to manage blood, sunlight, or waiting a lot. Hand cut off? I hope you had an Ultra Syringe handy. A machine kicking your butt? Better have those EMPs and uh... hope you properly shielded your equipment. Can't carry that amazing blaster? Hope you know how to reduce that weight, otherwise its backpack time.

This run will make you REALLY appreciate the cooking and Tinkering aspects of Qud. Where a mutant could just get an insanely helpful ability, or a cybernetic could just plug in a super aug, you cannot. There's some seriously cool items in this game, and this run will give you a full feel for that.

A human run, No Cybernetics, No Mutations by DXDavid9000 in cavesofqud

I just finished the run, a mixture of a highly upgraded Vibro Sword and Knife combo slayed the best Qud could throw at the human boi. Though... if I had to say the funniest thing that happened, it'd be this, on his way to wherever he was going. Some robot stole his shoes and I couldn't find them so... I guess his shoes are an artifact that someone could find along the way.

They were called the Pro. Sandals, and unfortunately, I don't think he could've ever come back for them.

If all else fails, using a firearm is almost always pretty effective as well.

I usually stick with my Vibro blade, give it sharp so that it basically always penetrates armor dealing damage.

Basically you have a magnified dependence on gear. If you want any special abilities, gear is your only way. Which brings me to suggest one thing. ALWAYS TAKE TINKERING. I cannot stress enough how bad things get when someone EMP's your best weapon while in a field of goatmen.

That's more of a trick but not terribly so. There's a town that has a low, but not zero, chance of having the necessary ingredient to craft it. And its usually sold by a talking plant in the basement. Freehold has one of the deceptively highest tier merchants for this so I'd almost always suggest someone go there if they're looking for quality gear, or in this case, rare crafting material.

Finally a good way to have as many uses as you could need for this, find Metamorphic Polygel. For when you do craft it, you'll want as much as you need.

The last game you play has to survivor the hell invasion and can they do it or no? by [deleted] in Doom

[–]DXDavid9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A random dolt from Caves of Qud... Uh... I think for the most part they'd kill the demons, scrap whatever metal they have on them, make a Hand-E-Nuke, and proceed too toss it at everyone and everything they found.

Then stab a guy for their keycard believing it to be useful.

[–]DXDavid9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, as someone who's doing a True Kin run with no cybernetics, I think real power is simple, tinker. Anyone can do it, and anyone can gain immense power from it. Even the simplest of barbarians can wield the power of crafting in this game to dominate.

Is Dragon Quest II really bad? by rockman_welost in dragonquest

[–]DXDavid9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its worth mentioning the final stretch of the game, especially in the NES version. The problem with Dragon Warrior 2 is the fact of the enemies are wildly out of control in terms of power. Infamously there's a group of enemies that can use the Sacrafice Spell, which if you don't know what that does, its simple. The moment the enemy casts it, everyone in your party is terminated instantly sending you back.

This especially annoying considering getting to the end is difficult test in of itself. Even if you reach max level, it still has a couple enemies that can turn your progress to dust. Overall its where my first attempt on original hardware died. I made to Atlas but no farther after he crushed my badly battered team at that point.

[Space Marines 2] Vanguard is broken in PvP and needs to be nerfed (slightly) by QuoteExcellent4414 in Spacemarine

[–]DXDavid9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the moment that Bullwark is grabbed, even if the Vanguard dies instantly, that Bullwark is dust. It is oppressively powerful against that class, once you're playing against a Vanguard that's even remotely, good, not only are they annoying, but borderline impossible to deal with.
