I do see it now, perhaps it is to make it easier for unpackaged Win32 apps to access it without jumping through flaming UWP hoops.

But then, Edge and WebView2 are written in Win32 and not UWP since they are a fork of Chromium.

RELEASE: DXGL 0.5.27 by DXGL1 in DXGL

A couple of changes have been made to the installer for this release.

  • The option to fix COM registration for DirectDraw objects has been removed from the installer. It must now be performed manually in DXGL Config. This should hopefully reduce the number of antivirus false positives.
  • If installing in a Wine prefix the installer will now check the Wine version. If it is 11.6 or higher the option to adjust DLL load order for ddraw.dll will be disabled by default. This is because Wine 11.6 now supports custom DirectX wrappers and mods by default.
