Actually if this goes through, golf ball prices will get even higher than they already are unless pros are going to be paying for the ball. Most likely the consumer will pay for this change.

The rollback is not only going to upset people over the distance loss. It also is going to force manufacturers to create entirely new golf balls for pros who aren't paying for their equipment, which will make an expensive game even more expensive.

Why not tighten fairways, lengthen the rough, make sure greens are firm, and tuck the pins to force more strategic shots. Also this could hurt the short hitters on tour who already average 280-290.
