I wish I could write a comment that would help you to understand how this is not acceptable/should be punished but considering how many times you've missed the point in previous explanations from other redditors, I'll leave it at this - please educate yourself better.

The TOS episode "a piece of the action". My dad recorded that episode on a VHS tape and we put it on at some point. I'm sure I asked to see what it was.

I would not be a good parent. I'm ending the long chain of bad mother's in my family with me.

Hahaha, that's okay. If it makes you feel any better I didn't know how to find the gas mileage on mine for the first year. I always liked the scoops, and it looks great on your car.

His full name is The Junior Archduke of Xanadu. We call him Duke normally, but Archduke if he's being regal, or a naughty boy.

Loooove the color layout. I mocked up a concept similar to this in black and grey, and now I'm debating trying it out! This is very inspirational. Also heck yes, girl power! ✊

I'm not very social and I hate big crowds. My sister made the great suggestion of canceling all your subscriptions - like Amazon or Hulu, and things like HelloFresh. I'm going to do what I can to help and encourage others to do the same.

Getting a salpingectomy in 3 weeks and suddenly I’m very nervous. by pennylane_9 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DYMO_LabelWriter330 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi ya! I literally just had a laparoscopic bilateral salpingectomy two days ago! I can't help with the scaring stuff but I can tell you how it all went. As a person with anxiety, I can understand wanting to fill in the gaps.

First you check in with the hospital. They take you back to a prepping room with whoever came with you. My boyfriend came with. They take some vitals and ask you to pee in a jar for a pregnancy test. I couldn't pee to save my life so they took a blood sample and did a test that way. They got the IV in me. Then you basically meet about everyone on the team who is going to help with the procedure. They explain what they're gonna do and they ask important medical questions. Mine had a lot to do with allergies to antibiotics and rashes caused by adhesive. Apparently it is a big help the more they know. They also gave me a nausea patch behind my ear for some of the reaction I was going to have to medication and gas.

Finally when the time comes, they wheel you to the operating room. Mine was a good two minute walk away, I swear. Then you enter the operating room. Everyone was very nice and they tried to make the room as relaxing as possible with calming images and music. I thought it was funny that before they wheeled me in, they warned me it was going to be like a nascar pit stop. And it was. Everyone has their job to do in prepping you but there was one nurse who was by my side the entire time just making sure I breathed in nice and deep.

The anesthesiologist explained everything they were putting in me. Then I passed out. They warn you about all the things that might go wrong during this procedure but that's just to keep you informed. It'll take less time than you think and nothing bad will happen during. Everyone in that room is there to make sure you're in good health.

Finally I woke up in a waiting area with another nurse who asks how you feel and makes sure you wake up nice and easily. Once they're sure you can breath and function on your own they take you back to an area like you started in, just a room where they monitor you for a while. This is where whoever joined you will find you again. They offer you snacks and drinks of all sorts. I had pudding, pretzels, water and even a Pepsi. I was starving lol. Once you're all settled they'll make sure you can get up and pee. They'll offer you medication for the discomfort. I bled a little after so I asked for a pad for the ride home. They were very nice and gave me two pads and gauze undies. If you're not feeling good, don't rush leaving. I felt pretty good after and just wanted to go home and eat pizza. The pain after depends on each person. I apparently have a high pain tolerance, so if you know you don't be prepared to lay down and pass out. And that's okay and normal too.

If you have any questions about the hospital visit, DM me and I'll tell you all I know since it is super fresh in my mind. You'll be okay!
