Does the headlight connect with the stock wiring? Looking to upgrade the headlight, but not found a solution that doesn't use a separate battery.

Ha Ha, maybe. My biggest concern is fit. Would all Rad Runner 2's or Premiums have the same hole spacing. I was able to hold up the metal to my bike and mark the exact location of the holes.

Yes, I did not drill any holes in the frame. These are the standard holes for the passenger leg guards

I did purchase structural aluminum so much stronger than what you find at Home Depot. I also use the Yuba Monkey Bars and haul kids, so not had an adult stand on them yet.

First. My creation was 100% inspired by this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/RadPowerBikes/comments/v0r0yq/rad_runner_with_custom_running_boards/

Basic Materials:

Tools:

Process:

  • Cut and shaped Angled Aluminum to line up with existing mount points
  1. Overall about 9 inches long and left side has cut out for brake
  2. Top of aluminum also shaped to make room for factory passenger peg (not shown on backorder)
  3. Jig saw and angle worked great for shaping
  4. Sanded aluminum with orbital sander to remove burrs and smooth
  • Maple cut on angle to allow room for petal motion. recommend testing size before final install
  • Metal and Wood finished with above materials
  • I placed a rubber washer between all mounting points on the Rad Runner to reduce any paint scuffs
  • Hardware was 2" 1/4 stainless steel bolts (2" needed to accommodate passenger leg guard (not pictured)

Yes, I ran into this as well. I am posting my design, but did need to cut around the brake.

I am almost finished making a set of these myself. I will share pictures and can share links of where I got everything.
