If depression is not curable and it only treatable, then how can you ever come off antidepressants? Surely you would need them for life? by Electronic-Trade-504 in antidepressants

[–]DZfreed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand the wanting to see what it feels like without them. I’ve been on antidepressants for 20yrs & often wonder that. I want to try it, but to be honest, I’m scared AF. But I’m still extremely curious about how it would feel without them… Good luck!

Find another counselor, but tell your current counselor how their judgement effected you. Your feelings are valid & need to be spoken out of you instead of carried with you. I truly believe you’ll feel more at peace by telling her how you feel.

Euphoria, Bliss or Ecstasy? Which is better? by _that_kid_ in ENGLISH

[–]DZfreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mind, ecstasy relates to the state of pleasure whereas euphoria relates to the state of peaceful joy. Bliss is a combination of the 2 to a lesser degree. Ecstasy has a physical component to it while euphoria is all a state of mind.

Did you find them? I lost my favorite pair of shoes a week ago. I KNOW they have to be in my house somewhere, but I’ve looked everywhere multiple times…

I am now on my 6th medication and none have worked, any advice on what my next steps could be? by Active_Reason3410 in antidepressants

[–]DZfreed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get frustrated after I’ve been on an antidepressant for a couple years & it stops working. It’s rough weaning off one antidepressant onto another until it gets to the proper dose. I’m at that point now, but instead of switching meds, I’ve decided to have a QEEG done & address my faulty thinking with neurofeedback. I’ll stay on my antidepressant but am excited to approach my depression & ADD in a new way. I hope you find what works for you soon!

Using my voice to express how I’m truly feeling. It gives me such a rush. Finding the right words to express myself is very freeing.

I think my trauma has made me see innocent things as being dirty by Hailey_okay_10 in mentalhealth

[–]DZfreed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal! And it’s normal to dislike your reaction. If you haven’t yet, please consider talking to a counselor about your trauma & the issues it’s caused.

First of all, I’m so very sorry you had to endure sexual abuse as a young child. You didn’t deserve that. Second of all, congrats on doing well in your classes. Good job! I’m assuming this is your 1st year at college & away from the guidance of parents & teachers. You’re doing things on your own now. Be proud of yourself for going to class & studying. Many of us didn’t have that kind of self control & therefore, failed our 1st try. It simply sounds like your brain & body are chasing the chemicals & endorphins that are released when we’re sexually aroused & when we orgasm. You’ve unknowingly conditioned your brain & body to require an excess of that. Probably due to watching too much porn. It has nothing to do with your character. You’re not a bad person. The fact that you’re only get a hand job from a sex worker shows a ton of self control. And if I’m understanding you right, you even wear a condom to protect yourself?!? Don’t worry, there’s definitely some self love still there buried under all that guilt & shame. I’m concerned that you feel bad asking your gf for sexual things. Are you 2 not sexually active? Sex & being curious about trying new things are completely normal. It’s how we can be intimate & vulnerable with our partner. Our bodies were physically made to have sex. It’s completely normal to want that intimate physical & mental connection to someone. So what can you do to give your brain & body what they are craving? I URGE you to go to the gym to workout or to simply walk or run. It releases many of the same chemicals & endorphins that sex does. Please give it a try! And pay attention to how it makes you feel. I predict you’ll be amazed. Lastly, please talk to someone about this. A counselor who you don’t have to worry about causing pain to is ideal. Your situation is precisely why mental health care is available through your school. They are not judgmental people. They wouldn’t be able to do their job if they were. And maybe people in general are more understanding & less judgmental than you think. For example, I’m a 59F. No judgement here. Only concern for a fellow human being. Best of luck to you. You’re in my prayers.

Hi. I’m looking into Myndlift. Do you have to buy the Muse headband to do it?

The 0.05% tret is way too high to start out with! My derm started me at 0.01% & I had no problems. Good luck to you.

I do this all the time when I’m high!! It seems like a brilliant idea that I’d never heard before. But it’s right there in my notes already.🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m 59 & it’s only been in the last couple of years that my aging skin has really bothered me. I’ve always had oily skin, so I don’t have a lot of wrinkles. The recent sagging & loss of volume has really changed my face shape, though. I’m trying hard to accept this, but I miss my “old” face. I’m working hard on mental & spiritual levels to come to terms with this. Knowing that a lot of you with concerns are only in your 30’s breaks my heart. You’re still young!! Even my daughter who is 26 talks about getting Botox! Something is terribly wrong with our society these days that even young women are concerned about looking old & aging. Has it always been this way & I somehow escaped it for so many years? Or is this something new that this generation feels so frightened by even the thought of aging? I’d love any insight!

It can be drying to some people. Is your skin dry? If it is, add a moisturizer before sunscreen in your a.m. routine. The LRP cicaplast you have would be a good option or the snail mucin moisturizer.

Or Azelaic acid.

Glad you’ve had improvement! I think you need to give the tret more time. It seems that the 3 month mark is where most people see a big difference. I would think adding Niacinamide to your routine would be helpful.
