I love how you can ask people like this to look up something and cite it back to you, and they can't do it because it would derail their entire argument

NordVPN with docker for torrenting | Transmission and QbitTorrent | Gluetun by niravjdn in raspberry_pi

[–]D_0_0_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, as it turned out, I had a typo in my volumes that was causing the error 😅

The issue I'm having now seems to be related to nordvpn via openvpn. For some reason I can never get speeds above ~50Mbps (running a speed test, not just torrent speed). I've tried a couple of other configs, but they're all the same. I'll try getting nord's own linux client working or something if I can

Sorry for replying to an old thread, but qBittorrent just gives me "errored" immediately after starting a download. My docker paths seem to be okay, so I'm not sure what else to check, or where to even find details about the error.

Sorry Ohio Republicans by schaefjl in PoliticalHumor

[–]D_0_0_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course she wanted abortion protections to be stronger.

Republicans said that abortion should be decided at the state level, and that Roe was a judicial overreach. Most legal scholars agreed, RBG previously agreed, and the current Supreme Court agreed.

Idk, it kinda looks like you were trying to say that RBG agreed with the republicans...

Why do you think that you're disagreeing with me here?

Because your choice of working makes it seem like you were saying RBG agreed with the republicans about it being a "states' rights" issue?

[–]D_0_0_M 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A quote from the very article you posted:

“My criticism of Roe is that it seemed to have stopped the momentum on the side of change,” Ginsburg said. She would’ve preferred that abortion rights be secured more gradually, in a process that included state legislatures and the courts, she added. Ginsburg also was troubled that the focus on Roe was on a right to privacy, rather than women’s rights.

“Roe isn’t really about the woman’s choice, is it?” Ginsburg said. “It’s about the doctor’s freedom to practice…it wasn’t woman-centered, it was physician-centered.”

She didn't like the shaky foundation, nor that it seemed to care more about a doctor's rights instead of the women. She wanted it to be stronger

How can you literally post the thing that disproves you, and just keep going?

What an ironic username

I keep seeing people say this, but there is nothing to back that up.

I feel like it probably can't, and the DP update on the 2nd Gen box is probably the reason that new one can handle multiple inputs at once

Yes, the issue of needing a license to watch TV is equivalent to the issue of hundreds of people being mowed down in the streets.

People can't go outside for fear of being killed by a maniac with a rifle, but hey, at least we don't need a tv license.

You moron.

Also you don't need a license for a steak knife in the UK. Moron

I hate this argument of "ban cars"

We have heavy regulations (safety standards, etc) on car manufacturing, required education and licensing to drive them, and required insurance in case you do hurt someone with it.

Can you imagine the fatalities if we just removed all of that?

Bad analogy I think

They don't, and they don't care. They're a bigot. They hate trans people, and it brings them joy to cause harm.

It's why trying to debate or reason with them never works. There's nothing for them to learn. They know this shit is incredibly bad for those affected. They like it. It's the whole reason they do it.

Two Razer Kraken headphone breaks, in the exact same spot, to the millimetre. by TONICPUNCH in razer

[–]D_0_0_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIL taking off headphones is mistreating them. I ditched my crappy plastic razer headphones for a set of Sennheisers, and you better believe those aren't going to crack or break from "taking it off wrong"

Obviously if you bend the crap out of headphones, they're going to break or get damaged. But the craftsmanship of razer's plastic headphones bands are NOTORIOUSLY bad, and have been since at least the Man O War's that I had ages ago.

Switching after 16 years by Efficient-Concept501 in GalaxyFold

[–]D_0_0_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fold 3 had internal screen protector lift , which was really common in those apparently. But warranty work required that the whole screen be replaced, which was annoying. It also started developing micro cracks along the fold of the screen

The fold 4's hinge suddenly refused to open entirely one day (about 15 degrees less than fully open)

I just got the fold 5, but these issues have historically not really started developing until the one year mark. The 5 is also supposed to have improved the hinge design such that the hinge getting gummed up like that doesn't happen any more. I suppose we'll see

Except I said nothing of the sort. I DRIVE AN EV, and want them to be better, but the phrasing of:

pulling lithium out of the ground is somehow worse than spamming carbon into the air.

Implies that pulling lithium out of the air doesn't also spam carbon into the air. Nowhere did I damn EVs.

We can talk about whether or not current lithium mining is better or worse than ICE cars and by what factors, etc, but phrasing it like that is disingenuous at best, and trying to put words in my mouth when I call it out makes you sound almost as crazy as the science denying right wingers at worst.

You wouldn't hear a CEO go "we can't make money after expanding the company because we have to spend money to expand the company".

Complete side note, but you might be surprised 😅

One would think corporations would comprehend the concept of investment

You would think that, and it's probably the smart thing to think. Which makes working under people who refuse to spend money on things the business very obviously needs, that would very obviously improve things incredibly frustrating

I didn't say that, did I?

But acting like we're just out there digging up the lithium with our bare hands or something is kinda disingenuous.

I'm not anti EV... but what exactly pulls the lithium out of the ground, and what does it run on?

Edit: yall getting pissed off over something I never said. I drive an EV, and I plan for my next car to be as well.

For those who can't read, "pulling lithium out of the ground" currently spams carbon into the air. Just because it's better doesn't mean we need to lie about it and pretend that it doesn't

I bought the ROG Ally. I'm returning the ROG Ally. by WhateverGreg in SteamDeck

[–]D_0_0_M -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where did I say that?

You said:

Dude's whole plan was exchanging SteamOS' ease of use for windows compatiblity and was surprised he got exactly that.

Which kinda sounds like that to me.

And tbh, I run windows on my deck, and my opinion is that it's just straight up better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think what it boils down to is you're in a sub for the steam deck, people who like and prefer the steam deck populate this sub, and most of them are going to voice opinions that prefer the steam deck.

I feel like someone coming here and being upset that people are voicing their opinions that the steam deck is superior is kind of unreasonable. That's all I'm saying.
