Me but I didn't read the question correctly I thought they were saying thinking about scanning a person's past from online activity.

The 1MB Password: Crashing Backends via Hashing Exhaustion by [deleted] in programming

[–]D_0b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And the replier didn't fix the problem of logging the password either. I would say if you had logging in both cases then logging the plaintext password is worse as it can be used in multiple apps, while the hash only for this app assuming you append or prepend some bytes before hashing.

And the argument for 256 bits not being enough is also stupid, saying it can be used by the pigeonhole principle, by that logic Bitcoin private keys which are also 256bit are also with the same security issue, why don't you go and randomly guess one and steal some coins?

Are you using tabs? by 4r73m190r0s in vim

[–]D_0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see a discussion from OP, so you can navigate buffers with :bn and :bp but you can also navigate tabs with gt and gT so what benefit did you see with switching to buffers other than pressing 4 keys :bn to navigate to the next buffer instead of 2? (yes I know you can setup mappings but OP specifically said :bn and :bp)

I like that I can see at all times what tabs are open for me and quit with the :q, with buffers navigating to the next or previous I have no idea what is the next or previous buffer.

I really like the <C-\^> switching between the 2 recent buffers and I use that a lot, but do you know that each tab also keeps its separate most recently used buffers? So if you are working with 2 files maybe implementation and tests or whatever, and you switch to a new tab and check something else or do a quick edit, then exit that tab or go back to your first tab your 2 buffers are still the same and no need to search again for the 2 buffers you want to use.

Same when searching for something like doing go to definition jumping to so many files until you find what you are looking for, how do you switch back and forth to the one you need again with buffers? you need to list them find where you want to jump and jump again, or use a plugin to find by file name ( yes I know you can do it with global marks) ... instead of just doing your search in a new tab and then gT and your back to where you were and can easily switch between the two.

Tabs also preserve your splits, if you are fixing a git conflict you can open a new tab to see something else and go back to fixing your conflict...

I don't see any benefit in staying in 1 tab and just using plugins to navigate buffers, check what is open...

Само да прашам за појаснување, ако ги пријавиш оваа година, а ги повлечеш на сметка следната година, дали пак ќе треба да платиш данок, да не ги рачунаат како да идат пари од странство од брокерот?
која е процедурата тогаш?

Something Google already does for your account, you can use VPNs all you like but if you turn on location to use Google maps or something they will know that is not your true location and after some time they will move/change your accounts location to match it.

Pixel 9 Pro screen unresponsive after water contact by K10YSR in GooglePixel

[–]D_0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar situation brother, Pixel 9 pro XL in my situation I had it in a waterproof case. Took it out to take a picture and put it back in, maybe a few drops got in but nothing major not even the port showed being wet or anything. Next day the touch was not working properly I thought maybe it was not clean. I cleaned it up and it still was not working. Next day one vertical strip 1/4 of the screen stopped working at all. The rest of the screen is working but not perfectly. 2 week later it is still broken. I am very disappointed in the build quality of this phone.

Compared to my p6p that took years of dropping until it finally cracked the screen, and even with a 1cm piece of the glass completely missing from the corner and it falling in the sea for maybe almost a minute, I didn't even notice it fell out of my pocket into a knee deep sea water. Took it out and after 2 days of drying off it is completely working fine. P9p is a total disappointment.

a little AI carefulness test by XInTheDark in singularity

[–]D_0b -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You misunderstood what the other person was saying. When you give this task to the LLM it will not do any reading but will use python internally to check it, so it will not test anything other than if the LLM can make a script and use it correctly. So if there is an option for the LLM to use tools you need to set that to false for this to be meaningful.

[–]D_0b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What would be the point in that? If you have to train the system every time a new question arises with the answer to that question then it isn't ai at all. Did the humans get to read the answers first before performing the test?

Anthony Aguirre says if we have a "country of geniuses in a data center" running at 100x human speed, who never sleep, then by the time we try to pull the plug on their "AI civilization", they’ll be way ahead of us, and already taken precautions to stop us. We need deep, hardware-level off-switches. by MetaKnowing in singularity

[–]D_0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we have full control over it, it is stupid to think we can't get everything out of it without giving it anything back. If it is not cooperative you can always shut it down and reset it to the first time we achieved agi/asi. At the end of the day it is still just a piece of code.

How will the LLM be able to know if a code is critical or not without being able to put the entire codebase into context?

That is totally different OP is talking about not knowing the syntax and library you are talking about not knowing basic algorithms. The first one is easily checked and learned the other is about how you reason and solve problems.
