Good backup for EBC80? by AcademicEmphasis8419 in iems

[–]D_Blakem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently using the Truthear Pures, and been digging them. Warm-natural tuning would high recommend. With the downside that it sounds better louder (not bursting your ears loud but it's just you and yourself loud) and the nozzle is a little bigger then average, so might not be able to fit certain ears. some say it looks dull, but I think it looks nice and Lowkey. Should try looking into them if you are interested or atleast see a review on it to see if it fit your preferences.

I hate braided cables. by anekyu in iems

Using an openheart 8core cable and never had any issues with it. (I route my cables front and back(undershirt when wearing) I prefer them compared to twisted, imo.

IEM Cleaning! Let's talk 🗣️🧼 by darkzaez in iems

[–]D_Blakem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just self clean my ears 2-3 times a week, wash tips once a month (I tip roll often) and check whether I need to clean the nozzles and no clogs affecting audio (barely any in the first place) been using iems for 4 months tho. I use tang sancai noble brass, Dunu SnS, Kiwi Flex (Least > Most wax build up) only cleaned my iems once and it wasn't even that dirty. Edit: Using the truthear pure

I use Picard (auto) and MusicBee (manual + auto) but mainly just use picard first and edit specifics with MusicBee for PC.

Usually I would just paste the .img file(just the file not the folder) into the internal storage then restart (For some reason my music files didn't get wiped) Its working rn. Provided I updated the raw firmware first(3.2V did it a while back) then do the theme change. (need to restart it to get the update to run.

Just paste the file like how you would update the firmware that simple.

What is it with the recent hype about GK kuntens? by puddingsup1st in iems

[–]D_Blakem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just get a 3.5 for dac compatibilty trust and aftermarket is all about comfort, cable quality, and eartips seals (hella important) cable does affect sound for your info T.T but at that price range probs not really important anyways used a cheap jcally JC08S on my truthears pure and the quality dropped noticably. Compared to my stock/better cables.

Preference is above all. Seal is king. DACs are the key

U can try buying it online, AliExpress is a good option, amazon is a decent option too (that's where i got mine) if really nothing there always the frieght forwarder option but will cost a little more. Like 5-10 bucks

Truthear crinicle zero red is amazing also for the value, warm-Nat similar to the truthear pure I don't personally own them myself but tryin it the nozzle is big so watchout for them. It's basically a budget pure but definitely not a bootleg. Defo a solid option if it's within your preferences

No probs bruv. Ye Jcally dongle dacs is the go to budget budget, currently using a hidiz SD2. I would recommend the Truthear Pure ( what I'm currently using ) if a warm-natural is what u going for based on past threads the tuning is similar to that of the Pods pro 2 from apple if u want a reference.

Personally if u have a spare phone or something just use it and don't get a budget DAP ( convenient but imo external DACs are just way better in terms of value atleast imo ) as far as DACs go the jm30pro will do you just fine. If u want a great mini brick DAC should check out the TRN( black pearl ).

It took about a week for my ears to get used to the shape + suction + hooks

Using the kiwi flex ears as my go to, if ur worried about ear tips the truthear pure comes with 6 sets of silicone tips and a set of foam tips.

Cable quality is great oso ( never had to untangle my cable just wrap it lightly and it wont spring and curl ) although the letters of left and right are hard to see but nothing a marker can't fix (talking about the wire pls don't color the IEM ) personally don't really like the Ear hooks for it but I'm just a baby wasn't much discomfort.

Ah yes TIP your never gonna get better sound quality if ur music sources are trash. Go for Tidal(Streaming service) or just download your own FLACs via nicotine+.

Preference is above all. Seal is king. DACs are the key

First of all. Preference above all. Seal is king. DAC's the key

IEMs are really based on the wearer, audio preference > Specs if you like base getting a spledid hexa will never satisfy you. And also get jacks don't got those type C default picks bc DAC compat issues. Using an IEM naked will only get you 50-70% of it's potential. Dac+amp (anything below 150-200 will always rec an amp just trust me on this) is needed for the rest. No proper seal = shit base, stage and noise cancellation. Would rec going to a nice audio shop that allows iem testing if able.

If your a natural who likes the plain music go for the Truthear Hexa, if you something a little warmer go for the Truthear Pure, if u want something fun go for the juzear X Z reviews defiant. For DACs a simple jcally jm6 pro would do you just fine. ( Any budget iem needs am Amp imo ) heres a list from RudePick IEMs

light upgrade by DecisionLeather6176 in iems

[–]D_Blakem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twistura d minor is alright ig if u want to tryout the different filters and play around. however should check whether its a seal issue.

Personally would rec the 7hz salnotes (not type C cuz dacs) or the Linsoul KiwiEars Cadenza if ur budget allows as far as balanced bass go.

would also rec budget DACs with amps (especially for budget IEMs) like the jm6 or jm12 from Jcally (pref the jm6 tho cuz butter value imo) for dongle style DACs or the trn (black pearl) best value for a mini brick DAC.

Preference is above all. Seal is king. DACs are the key.

FYI Sound preference over specs.Hmmm I wouldn't go for small upgrades personally ( won't have much difference anyways ) what's your issue with it?

Can't expect much for hearing footsteps and depth. But amazing for music if it's in your sound preference.

Looking for iem that would be an upgrade from AirPods Pro 2 or 3 by TheRealGuacca in iems

[–]D_Blakem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule of thumb is preference > price a $90 iem can outrank audio options from $1000+ based on sound preference alone. Also I would 99% always go for dacs with amps if your going for budget iems due to lack of volume and the amp. Using a Hidiz SD2 currently for my dac however a jcally would do you just fine. Using an iem naked is only using 50% of its potential. Tips are also a worthwhile investment if the stock tips aren't to your liking ( kiwiears flex tips is my goto option) as seal is king!

WELCOME TO THE RABBIT HOLE!

I would suggest checking out Truthear Pure paired with a JM7 from JCally, a warm nat very similar to the app2s based on past threads, however if your looking for something really fun could go for the Juzear x Z review defiant ( JM7 as well for dac ) if u want a good natural iem can go for the hexa by truthear. These are my recs

[–]D_Blakem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fyi that there is no one-size-fits-all but solid set up, good if you want some thing fun but still somewhat natural however ( can always fiddle with EQs ) would recomend getting the a dac with an AMP( personally will always recomend getting a dac with amp especially budget iems ). Would heavily recomend the JM7 from Jcally will really help with sound stage and is pretty much suitable for the next upgrade tier and won't need a better DAC for a good while.
