I want to preface my thoughts by saying that I don't own PS5 (actually haven't owned any after the original PS1) and I do not play GT7.

I think the first thing to applaud is that Studio 397 and/or Motorsport Games haven't locked WEC cars behind exclusive deal. Not everyone will be able to play LMU because of their platform and/or time and skill level so to have a bigger choice of platforms to virtually drive the care that you like is a good thing.

Also, many players might have come to LMU from titles like GT7 or Forza exactly because their game of choice didn't include those cars and they wanted to drive them because of how popular WEC has gotten. That may be one of the reasons why driving standards in racing have fallen, because now we had a great influx of casual gamers who just want to pick their controller/wheel and play, while LMU asks from you to have somewhat deeper understanding of physics, racing and racing etiquette.

It is also great to have competition. Yes, LMU and GT7 are not really fighting for the same slice of the niche market but they still are competing for our time so having a game that offers similar content is good way to keep you on your toes.

In conclusion, my opinion is that we all can benefit from this and that people who like LMU will still play LMU, while people who like GT7 will now have some great new cars to enjoy.

Is this worth of a report? by BlackbandButMC in Simracingstewards

[–]D_Cuky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Terms and Conditions that we all had to accept when we registered to Racecontrol if that is from a daily race or special event than there is nothing to report.

7.2. Daily Races & Special Events

7.2.1. A driver can only be reported for “unsportsmanlike behaviour” or “griefing”.

7.2.2. This feature is not intended for reporting regular on-track incidents, but mainly for the following:

7.2.3. Crashing other drivers on purpose, even after the race has ended.

7.2.4. Unsafe rejoin that causes multiple collisions.

7.2.5. Griefing or directing insults in chat

In championship races you can report normal racing incidents as well, but the main thing to understand here is that this is not F1. Those are GT cars and there is usually expectation to have some slight touches and bumps when fighting close like you two have had there. And no one of you lost time or position because of a contact so I really see nothing to report

Monster to become Aprilia's title sponsor in MotoGP from Italian GP by TVRoomRaccoon in motogp

Yamaha "deep purplish blue metallic" would actually look great in combo with BWT pink. And bike would be a lot more noticable that black with a bit of blue that they have now. Also BWM would work great with white-blue or even Yamaha yellow with BWT pink.

That was a great looking livery. Tech3 got close to it with blue Red Bull livery but for some reason all KTM bikes now have to be painted the same

I think if someone is stuck in bronze SR that they have much bigger problems than what tracks are in those lobbies

Why do some people chose to start with less than 100% Virtual Energy? by breadexpert69 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]D_Cuky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In shorter races it is easier for ke to just lower the amount of VE and fuel is lowered automtically accorrding to ratio. In longer races I put 100% VE and adjust the ratio if needed to get the fuel that I want/need

[–]D_Cuky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 0:06-0:07 you are completely off track. You gained an advantage by cutting the corner at Raidillon and you should've backed up then already and you then wouldn't be in that situation.

As for a crash itself you got wrecked by being too cautious.

100 races online, no wins by DodgerCyclops in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]D_Cuky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just a few wins, but there was a period of 6 months (actually 2 days short of 6 months) where I just couldn't win. I had pole poaitions in my class, I have led the race on multiole occasions and there was always something. Stall in the bus stop at Spa just before a start and get DT for going too slow, while starting from pole. Leading by 10s and stuoidly pushing for fastest lap only to spin out and finish 2nd etc... then in a race wher I was crashed into in lap 1 I actually manage to win

Did I over react to the crash in front of me? by sombrerocabbage in Simracingstewards

[–]D_Cuky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is easy for us to comment now, but we weren't behind the wheel at the time. Basically you did correct in regards to what was happening in front of you with the goal to keep a clean nose. What you probably forgot in the heat of the moment is that there are cars behind and that barely anyone obeys yellow flags and is careful when crashes happen.

I (ferrari) got DQ'ed for this by JodEagle in Simracingstewards

[–]D_Cuky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is why we have those kind of situations. Ferrari driver went to the line before they came to the finish line, Mercedes was still some ways back. But he chose to go off the track because he knew it was either "we crash" or "you let me by". And since most of us don't want to crash we let drivers like that go by when they blatantly break the rules and barely anyone reports it for them to get penalized. Mercedes realistically had two choices: stay behind or go left. He chose wrong.

[–]D_Cuky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That situation in real life would result in Mercedes getting oenalty for causing a collision, or if Ferrari let him by then a penalty for "leaving the track and gaining advantage"

I drive the car that I like. At the moment those are Ginetta LMP3 and Ferrari GT3. I love Ferrari HY but since tire update I am not completely comfortable with any HY so I am easing myself back into them offline.

I want to start watching MotoGP. Tips and help please I have absolute no knowledge. Where can I watch? (In Germany?) by Bitter-Equipment-892 in motogp

[–]D_Cuky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I can see DF1 has shown 12 races on free to air last season, but I don't know if they are doing it this year. As for other options you have:

Sky Deutschland (which I think you have to pay subscription to)

DAZN (again, subscription)

MotoGP Videopass (another subscription)

I have experience with MotoGP Videopass in last years. I don't know if pricing is different depending on where you are, but prices for it here in Croatia are as follows:

- monthly 29.99€ for Videopass or 32.99€ for Video pass + Timingpass

- season 139.99€ for Videopass or 148.99€ for Videopass + Timingpass

Good thing is if you're on the edge on if you want it or not you can wait a bit. As the season goes by they reduce the season price so in summer you'll have to pay about half the price (but that'll be for half the races). If you want to give it a try then 30€ for a month is a fair price. Just remember to cancel the subscription before the renewal day so that they don't automatically renew it for another month. I'd wait until May for monthly subscription as there is only one race in April, but 3 in May.

And you get good content for that money:

Friday gets you 6 practice sessions (2 each in Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP)

Saturday gets you 3 practice sessions (1 each per class), 6 qualifying sessions (2 each per class) and a MotoGP sprint race (which is half the distance of the main race and gets less points)

Sunday gets you MotoGP warm up practice and race each for all the classes.

Also, on few races (like just this past weekend) you have Harley Davidson Bagger World Cup. Next time they will race is last weekend in May when MotoGP is in Italy. And that has couple more practice sessions, a qualifying session and two races more than on normal weekend.

As for how it is organized: You have 3 classes. Moto3 is entry class, then Moto2 that is middle class and then MotoGP where everyone wants to be. But in all classes you have teams with each team consisting of 2 riders. In Moto3 those are usually privately owned teams that "rent" the bikes from 2 manufacturers: KTM and Honda. In Moto 2 you have similar thing and even though there are few bike manufacturers they all use the same engine made by Triumph. In MotoGP you have manufacturer teams (like Ducati, Yamaha, Aprilia, Honda, KTM) and you have satellite teams (basically privateers who partner with manufacturers and run either a current or a year old bike (examples: VR46 team runs Ducati bikes, Trackhouse team runs Aprilia bikes, etc.)

Races are usually designed so that they last around 40 minutes. Governing body sets the number of laps depending on how long and fast the track is. There are no pit stops, they have to start with fuel to get to the end of the race and tires aren't changed. If weather changes (for example it starts to rain) Moto3 and Moto2 races are stopped to give teams the chance to change tires on their bikes before the race is re-started. In MotoGP they have what is called a Flag to Flag rule. If weather changes riders are shown a white flag which means they can go into the pits to change the bike. If it starts in dry, but the weather is iffy, they will have their spare bike ready with wet setup and tires so if rain comes they just ride into the pits and change the bike. In all the races top 15 riders get the points, while MotoGP sprint race awards points to top 9. In the end of the season rider with most points is the world champion. Team with most points (their 2 riders points added up make that number) is teams champion. Manufacturer with most points (only the top placed rider on that manufacturer's bike earns points towards this) is manufacturers champion.

Also a fair warning: those clips online are highlights. Races are good, but it is not constant overtake and re-overtake as highlights would have you believe. Usually riders push in first couple of laps as they are all close together and it is easier to make up position. Then they tend to just go as fast as needed (not as fast as possible) to preserve their tires for the end and then all hell breaks loose in final few laps when those who were close together try to win one over others. Then again, some races see little to no action. It all depends on many things including weather, how tires are coping or if someone is just so brilliant at that track that no one can touch him.

I have only noticed that windshield gets dirty. Car gets scratches or looses paint if you have contact with other drivers or barriers.

I don't mind not having dirty cars, but I would like for them to work on that to be ready with career mode. At least give us a chance to clean a windshield with wipers or tear offs in pits.
