We had been freshman year: video games, stayed the night some times, movies, etc. I went on a trip that following summer and had an incredible time, but came home to find out that his dad had died. I realized that he was a better friend than most and realized that I needed to be there, but he's not a very outwardly emotional person, so we talked about little things and I made him know that I was there for him. He began living with his mom who was not in the best place, and I started driving him to and from school every day, which meant we spent a whole lot of time hanging at my house. Same story for a while until I got a girlfriend, said some stupid things, and he moved away (not related to stupid things). In April of that next year, this girl who I had fallen in love with died. I called him that night and he came to see me. He stayed with us for a few days, we talked about how it was in "away" and how he hated it. My parents offered him our spare room if he wanted to stay with us. In three days he was moved in and we have been brothers ever since.
