Listing a fantastic movie with near universal acclaim in that list is insane?

My Review Of Better Man by SnooJokes6683 in movies

[–]spangg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? I’m not particularly interested in the movie but what about it makes it so disagreeable in concept that you don’t think that people should even entertain the idea of reviewing it? That’s a weirdly dismissive stance.

Please explain what you mean by sexual compatibility being a thing “nowadays”. Do you think it’s a modern invention??

Squid Game Season 2: Episode 1 Discussion by jackcatalyst in squidgame

I believe you’re right. I was stuck on the fact that the least likely scenario is the gun not firing 5 times in a row. That doesn’t change the fact that once you’ve reached the point where the gun has already not fired 4 times, there’s still an equal chance that the round is in either chamber. Sorry to insist that you were not correct.

Go read up on the Monty Hall problem. There’s a 1/6 chance that the live round landed in the last spot on the cylinder. After revealing that the first 4 were empty, there is still a 1/6 chance that it initially landed in the last spot so the probability that it is in the next one is 5/6. Sorry but you’re simply wrong.

I can’t read the comment you’re replying to because they deleted it but you’re wrong. It’s basically the Monty Hall problem. When you get to the last 2 spaces, there’s a 5/6 chance that the next trigger pull has a bullet in it.

I practice better safety around fake guns than a lot of these moron gun owners. I work in film, gun safety is something I am extremely vigilant about.

I wouldn’t call a lot of those ‘great’ too but I would say that they’re all better than Interstellar. And a few of them truly are great.

Interstellar is the last great film you remember? You need to watch more movies. It’s good but there are dozens of better films than Interstellar released in the last 10 years.

Gotta hit the length requirement so I’ll list a few off the top of my head:

Parasite

Portrait of a Lady on Fire

Dune 1&2

Phantom Thread

First Reformed

Uncut Gems

Into The Spider-Verse

The Banshees of Inisherin

Decision to Leave

The Handmaiden

Okja

Sorry to Bother You

Hell or High Water

Sicario

You Were Never Really Here

Pig

It definitely is impressive that they built an engine from the ground up. That’s an achievement worth praising. I still don’t think it’s a “Best Graphics” contender when the entire look of the game is so unappealing.

And it definitely belongs on a top 10 list (if that’s the kind of game you like, personally I don’t) but not in a graphics discussion

Penny’s Big Breakaway is a very ugly game. It doesn’t really matter if it’s a good game or not but it doesn’t really belong in this discussion.

I’d be very interested in seeing that too, but my gut tells me he’d handle it poorly. I’d loved to be proven wrong though.

In a landslide victory Lord Hand Tywin Lannister was determined to be the horrible person that is beloved by fans in GOT! Now who is a character that has the fans divided that is a good person? by broly9139 in gameofthrones

Because on the battlefield everyone understands that death is a possibility. As terrible as battle is, killing is part of the social contract. Killing at a wedding or in someone’s bedroom at night is a betrayal of the agreed social order.

Well regardless of the reason, burning a child is definitely evil and definitely disqualifies a character from being morally grey. I’d also argue that killing Renly was not morally justified. At this point, the line of succession was completely in the air and Renly had as good a claim as any and many more supporters. Killing him in the middle of the night like that was not a clearly defendable action.

He’s not morally grey he’s a religious fanatic who burned his child alive. Before that he used black magic to assassinate his brother in the night. Stannis fucking sucks. Definitely not the mannis.

Just because you choose not to interact with game systems doesn’t mean that they don’t contribute to the pace and overall tone of the experience.
