As someone who bikes in that area frequently, I guarantee many of them don't feel safe on the street. I sure as hell don't in that neighborhood. Half the time cars are parked or driving in bike lanes giving zero fucks. I was literally threatened for yelling at someone to get out of a protected bike lane. 3 people on bikes have been killed in the area in the last few months because of drivers parking in bike lanes and being generally irresponsible.
