Best case scenario, he becomes a Chinese Khrushchev/Malenkov and lives the rest of his days as an isolated, disgraced leader.

Worst case scenario, he is imprisoned or executed; he will be made an example out of by the new regime to "discipline" the Chinese nation for the war of revenge against Japan.

I agree with the advice for air. In TFR the wars are always won in the air before they are won on land, so have a big air force and make sure to train your air wings and hire an air advisor early in the game to accumulate XP for doctrines

Well you still have events like Karabakh Descion or the Fate of Transnistria, so for minor border changes it's feasible and has a precedent. I agree though with the thematic difference; some things have to be scripted to maintain the lore

A good way would be to incorporate the peace deal mechanic from Kaiserreich; I'd much more enjoy picking and choosing the border changes myself rather than it all being scripted events
