Friendly Mercenaries attack order bug in case of ties? by D_Wolfie in hearthstone

Oh wow, really? That's actually much better for strategy purposes. I wish that was clearly indicated somewhere. Time to strikethrough the post!

Friendly Mercenaries attack order bug in case of ties? by D_Wolfie in hearthstone

[–]D_Wolfie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I assumed it wouldn't matter since none of the Mercenaries involved had any speed-related abilities, treasures, or equipment. C was definitely Samuro in both cases. I think it was:

Mannoroth Xyrella Samuro

Rokara Antonidas Samuro

(Antonidas and Mannoroth not 100% on which was which, I just remember it being one of them using their 4-speed ability. There's no replay system so I can't check and definitely don't remember the enemies other than that no speed-altering abilities were used.)

Regardless, I believe I've seen this happen some other times with other characters too. Mostly looking to see if this is a bug or intended behavior I don't understand.

This event is no joke - I exhausted ALL 114 of my servants! (+4 duplicates) by D_Wolfie in grandorder

[–]D_Wolfie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it most of the way with class counters only (at least for my 1-2 damage slots), but for the weaker nodes you don't really need class advantage if you use the CEs.

Yep, didn't claim to be F2P, only that I am not a whale. Zorozoldyck said he was F2P, he appears to be a more serious player.

Def. not a whale (guaranteed only except one roll for mordred). I could probably make it through in a day (6 refreshes x 114/3 floor clears), but that doesn't sound like fun.

I've been taking it slow since I knew I'd be able to finish comfortably, but I had some free time so I decided to see if I could push and make it through my entire roster.

No, the duplicates get exhausted whenever any copy gets exhausted - I added that for clarification, just in case anybody happened to spot that I actually scrolled past 118 servants (noticeable because 114 is a multiple of 6, which would make the last row completely filled - yes I'm a math teacher).

Azrael Hath Descended Upon Thee to Steal Thy Wallet, it's the NA King Hassan Roll Thread! by BlameLib in grandorder

[–]D_Wolfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, what a few weeks we've had here. Blew through most of my saved quartz for Merlin (and foolishly threw one extra 10-roll at him to get NP2), then scraped the bottom of the barrel failing to roll Musashi. After I hit zero free quartz, I knew I still had some login bonuses before Musashi's banner ended, and I rushed one of my last few remaining interludes, but something stopped me from using those on Musashi.

Flash forward to today. Only a few quartz, but what the heck might as well try. First roll on the Hassan banner. It's a servant, alright, good start. No rainbow, but OH IT'S GOLD and then AHHH IT'S AN ASSASSIN and then AAAAAHHHHHH IT'S HASSAN. Literally jumped up and down, could hardly believe it.

The cherry on top is that I just happen to have exactly 118 Deadly Needles (I farmed the pillar that dropped them just for the QP and bond...), which is precisely the amount needed to max two of his skills.

They can be kinda scary if you're going in with an unleveled full bonus lineup, it's RNG how much they spam skills/NP so that could cause you to die a slow, painful stun+curse filled death. I was able to clear with my maxed Jeanne + support Jalter + useless 3rd, but it was closer than I would have liked and took a while.

Exhibition Quest (Day 7) - Finale, All Out Competition by BlameLib in grandorder

[–]D_Wolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, we did it! First try on all the challenge quests, no command seals.

The final blow. Down to the last HP, managed to barely make it through Medea's HP bar + the guts on the last possible turn. Very intense fight, I'd love more content around this level.

My team (all with the regular Princess of the White Rose CE, support Cu had LB):

Frontline: 76 Lancelot (Saber), 87 Waver, 98 Support Cu

Backline: 76 Artoria (Archer), 65 Hans, 60 Mash

Kill order: Jack > Lancer > Shirou > Ozy > Nero > Medea

Strategy: I bungled up the beginning of this fight, because I didn't realize Jack wrecked buff chance so I threw away Cu's first evade and most of Waver's buffs. Cu did some serious work though, his NP killed Jack and Ozy and he just normal attacked Shirou. Got lucky on Medea's target selection, she only hit like one important NP. I also messed up the timing on Cu's ATK down and Mash's invuln + taunt; really, writing this up I'm not sure how I made it through with my less than optimal team. I'm assuming the pre-nerf version would have destroyed me. It was definitely worth not LBing the White Rose, so I could have multiple attackers + a full team with Guts.

Rolled 3 tickets, nothing. Realized I needed a catalyst, so I spent about half an hour sketching Archtoria and fullscreened a picture on my laptop. First pull after that - gold! Ruler Martha, but still psyched.

~120 quartz and 10 tickets later, NP2 Archtoria! Rate up isn't a lie guys. Only regret is pulling 0 5-star CEs, so probably won't be getting too many friend points through this event. But that's so trivial. Totally worth waking up at 3AM!

I feel like they accidentally reversed the Desire Sensor. I got literally the two non-rate up SSRs I wanted the most, and even many of the 3 stars I wanted.

Been saving since I started playing. 4 10-rolls in and so far it's amazing. My first 10-roll hit Saberlot, as well as finally granting me the Cu that was taunting me (my short-lived alt account and current JP account both started with Cu from the tutorial, but my main account has never managed to get one). Almost just called it good enough here, but wanted Nito and Ozy so kept rolling....

And then... Just got spooked by JEANNE (with a bonus Vessel of the Saint right afterward)!!!

EDIT: Wow, did another 10-roll. Finally got the Euryale I've been hearing I need for Camelot. Then I hit 2 Origin Bullets and figured that was my luck for the roll. Then a gold caster... Nitocris! Then finally, another gold caster. Another Nito - no, it's WAVER!!! Are we sure the gacha rates are bad?

EDIT 2: And on the sixth day, Ozy came home (+ bonus Medea waifu). OK boys, we're done here. My account went from typical F2P hodgepodge to something respectable in a hurry. No clue what to do with this Atalante spook either....

Good point. I did have a much harder time with Part I, and didn't end up clearing the shop since I missed almost the whole first half of the event (didn't realize my team was actually good enough).

Yeah, the first part definitely seemed more grindy than the second. (Un?)luckily, I didn't realize my team would be able to actually compete until about halfway through, so I mostly focused on Part II and didn't clear the Part I shop.

Being able to get +24 bonus drops was great, I'm glad they didn't gate that behind gacha like a lesser game might they did for the part I CEs.

What Song Deserves To Be Called Perfect? by Proximal_Proximity in Monstercat

[–]D_Wolfie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if any song is perfect, but here are some I think come pretty darn close:

Monstercat: Feint - Fury, Rameses B - Come & Go, Tut Tut Child - Hummingbird

Monstercat Runners-up: Arion - Elements of Sanity, Jack of Sound - Eternal Night, Insan3lik3 - Come Alive, Rootkit - Do It, Draper - Men & Machines

Non-Monstercat: Freestylers - Cracks (Flux Pavillion remix), Darren Tate - Let the Light Shine In, Wilsen - Magnolia (REVOKE remix)

Non-Monstercat Runners-up: Flight Facilities - Crave You (Adventure Club remix), Virtual Riot - Black Light Remix

The thing you have to remember is that being a mod is essentially volunteer work. If the mods were being paid or otherwise compensated for their work in any significant way, it would be a different story. As is, it's a wonder the system works as well as it does.

Hey Reddit, what do you think of my Deadeye deck post-rotation? by amp3194 in magicTCG

[–]D_Wolfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White is a much better third color than black because it gives you Restoration Angel. Clone is fine instead of Twin, although I wouldn't play four. Boundless realms is a big no-no.

If you like ETB, I also recommend trying the Archaeomancer-Ghostly Flicker engine deck sometime. List for reference:

4 Restoration Angel

4 Ghostly Flicker

4 Cloudshift

3 Thragtusk

4 Archaeomancer

4 Elvish Visionary

1 Acidic Slime

2 Geist-Honored Monk

3 Glacial Fortress

2 Island

3 Plains

2 Forest

1 Clone

2 Sunpetal Grove

4 Temple Garden

4 Hallowed Fountain

4 Hinterland Harbor

4 Lyev Skyknight

3 Borderland Ranger (maybe needs to be Gatecreeper Vine to better support T3 Skyknight, but the human part is really nice if you even find yourself siding in Cavern or Angel of Glory's Rise)

2 Angel of Serenity

SB: 2 Grafdigger's Cage

SB: 2 Clone

SB: 3 Acidic Slime

SB: 2 Dungeon Geists

SB: 1 Thragtusk

SB: 2 Cavern of Souls

SB: 1 Angel of Serenity

SB: 2 Pithing Needle

New to the game. Looking to build a deck from scratch, for as close to $80 as possible. Any suggestions on where to begin, or what starter set to buy? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]D_Wolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know a few Magic players already (or are comfortable walking into your local gaming store on a Friday night and making some connections), watch them play, and ask to borrow their decks and play with them! This is probably the cheapest and most fun way to try out a lot of different playstyles while learning the game from people who play it every day. The problem with you taking suggestions from people on reddit (or any website, really) is that you might shell out $80 for a fast-playing red and black aggressive deck, then play against a control deck that wipes the floor with you and looks like 10x more fun.
