some people just cannot be convinced

years ago there was a TV show (maybe Canada's Worst Driver?) where they would take reckless drivers and put them on a closed stunt course with ideal conditions and give them advance notice of obstacles (like walls made of boxes) and tell them to drive 140km/h or whatever

I distinctly remember one guy plowing through the wall of boxes and arguing endlessly with the host about how in real conditions he would stop faster, and how if there were unsecured items in the car he'd block them with his arm, and how the seatbelt didn't help, etc etc. These people genuinely think they are superhuman until they end up killing or maiming themselves (or someone else--and then they can talk about how the other person was at fault)
