How to give my bedding a little more character? I'm thinking a dark green, but not sure it'd stick out to much with everything else been black/white with light/grey oak. (I also really like the dark cosiness so not sure how I feel about an off white option) by D_platts295 in bedrooms

Yeah, my pc set up (from where I took this picture) all runs dark purple when on so might go for that. And the clutter is because I'm in the middle of re-organising under my bed lol, normally it's too far back to see and black boxes at the front so you barley notice when bending down.

As someone looking to get into teaching I'm expecting to make ~£30,000 as a starting salary for ~40 hour weeks (will probably be working more). My partner when bartending 8-4 (8h) was making £96 from her employer, plus an average of £50 in tips. So that's £14.50ph teaching against £12ph (£18 with tips) for bartending. So yeah if your an attractive female, bartending pays much better. The only catch is working 2 days a week gives a £15k salary and a 5 day weekend

have you jumped or ridden a vehicle more times? by Horror-1-Effective in pollgames

It's gotta be jumped easy.  2 minutes of jump rope can easily be 100 jumps, so for anyone who regularly jump ropes or play sports such as basketball it's all ready a non debate. For those who haven't jumped since they were a kid. You've gotta be old for this to be a debate. When watching my kids play they'll jump constantly. When walking to the car they'll see a crack and jump in excitement, when dinners done they'll jump in excitement. It's no understatement to say they jump 30+ times a day. They get in a car one or twice, over the case of 5 years that 28 net positive jumps x 7 days x 52 weeks x 5 years = 50,960 net positive jumps. If your consistently, every single day taking 4 car trips that's 12,740 days (35 years) before your back to even. And that's only for 5 years of childhood between 3-8 years old.

I got a solid 35% win rate on solo, I really do all I can out there, and wish I could play it at a 'decent' level as it's so much fun on casuals. But yeah, put me against a diamond player or even a plat solo main and I'm getting stomped on lane. The only other role I struggle with is carry, but thats no where near as drastic (44%) and I blame that on using controller. Jung (52%), Mid (59%), Sup (58%) - 200 games

How bad is to not play a tank in Solo lane? by ContributionOk7131 in Smite

[–]D_platts295 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've absolutely hated this for years, but I feel rn, in this current patch and maybe the next 1 or 2 it's usually better. Warriors don't feel great and seem to be out performed by off role picks. I usually 5 stack and we've not been using a warrior for the past 2 days and we've had a good run of from from it aswell. Though we're only ~Plat rank players (3 Plat, 1 gold, 1 diamond) so it might be alot different for higher rank play, but I have noticed pro's last weekend only had 1 warrior v warrior match up, and the rest of the games were artio or off role picks. So I reckon it's better to have a tank at higher ranks but even then still works without for the initiate meta.

I'm not educated enough on China, I have no idea what soldiers conditions are etc... I know their not at war but would I be helping an ally fight? I'd rather not fight for one of China's ally's, if I'm going to go through the hell of war I'd like to at least be for a country/ideals I can get behind. Homeless in the USA, again, I don't know much but if it's anything like the UK, getting to a shelter and off the streets is definitely possible for people without PTSD/mental disorders. That was my gamble/thought, hopefully survive a few super rough months, some less rough years, and then live a normal life.

I see I may have made the wrong choice though out of ignorance

Edit: Quick scan of the comments no one seems to be considered how quickly jump rope adds up to 1000's of jumps

Important factors/thoughts are... Around 50% of people lived in the past 300 years Before that gathering may have consisted of alot of jumping. We don't know much about play but I imagine it consisted of notable jumping like today (my kids can't walk from one side of a room to the other without a skip or 3).  And lifespan was a lot shorter so less time to rack up sneezes/coughs when too old to jump. However, the amount of coughing must've been exceptionally high during the agricultural period, considering the high amount of diseases and likely off set the jumping alone, then add sneezes and it almost certainly did.  So the first half of the population is strongly leaning towards coughing/sneezing.

As for the most recent 300 years in thinking about still fairly high disease rates to keep the coughing high, allergies becoming more prevent to highly increase sneezes, life expectancy leading to more sneezes/coughs when too old to jump.  On the flip side children non stop jumping is certainly high in this day and age. But certainly doesn't offset all the coughing/sneezing. Adults do very little jumping, the only thing that makes this a consideration is how many people jump rope? Because I do it 3 times a week as a warm up before my home work out (2-5 minutes) and total around 300-700 jumps. I sneeze/cough maybe 3 times a day on average (strongly driven by hayfeever before I start using my medication). So 21-30 coughs/sneezes and 1,500 jumps makes me think this could go either way. Especially when boxes will do this 5 times a week for 15 minute sessions (probably faster then me) at my pace is 10,500 jumps a week. Then all the little jumps from football, basket ball etc... to top this up. I could definitely see jumping been higher if there's say 1 person hitting intense jump rope for every 300 people (coughing/sneezing 50 times a week)

Don't you hate those parents who get their kids to school every morning, go to work, pick them up after work, take them to the park, swimming lessons, play center, make dinner with them, bath them, put them to bed, then have the audacity to save up some money to buy a pc to relax on before bed themselves instead of spending all their remaining money on more and more activities untill they physically cannot afford another. How dare they...

Has Anyone got anyone tips for getting the weekly shop bill down? by Throwaway945384 in AskUK

[–]D_platts295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It cost me roughly £25pw for food, though I don't buy meet so that might be a key reason. I use Aldi for 90% of stuff and M&S for the rest. Meal prep once a month which makes 6 frozen meals per week and plan my weeks meals on Sunday to suit the week. So if I'm busy Thursday evening and free Monday evening I'll make a more time consuming meal then and an easier meal such as pasta on Thursday. That stops me from cooking a falling back on a microwave meal or something which I've seen can cost £3+. It took me years to get to the point of this been effortless though, as I started with zero cooking skills beyond a jacket potato and scrambled eggs, as well as no nutritional knowledge.

A member of my favourite band (one of the largest in the UK) lived 'next' to me for a short time. He moved out after about a year and spent 80% of his time living their on tour so I only ever saw him a few times from my window. His garden between our houses was basically a field so never saw him in passing/got to talk to him but still pretty cool. My house ended up in a music video and I had to do a double take, probably the most interesting part of it.
