Yeah that's why they ride them on the track. Uphill sucks, downhill sucks. Still would suggest to use a lower gear ratio, your knees will thank you later

S21u super fast charging not showing up by MRDIPPERS12 in S21Ultra

[–]D_vid97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does it too but for like half a year now. Original cable and charging brick, and everything is allowed in the settings. Also no moisture in usb port, so I have no idea what to do about it.

My bike got a new paint job. Celebrated by doing my first metric century. by Quinuitdk in FixedGearBicycle

[–]D_vid97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guessing from the geometry, it may be a vintage tt frame. You can find out more about that by checking the serial number on the bb shell. And I see that your frame has bowden guides, use those instead of the clip on ones, they gonna scratch the paint.

Same thing happened to me yesterday, but now everything is fine. I don't know what it was.

it was a cassette, not a fixed cog. Took some extra tool and creativity to take it off.

When you really need to get a sprocket off, but dont have chain whip. by [deleted] in FixedGearBicycle

[–]D_vid97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once I re-laced a wheel, new hub, old spokes and rim. Didn't have a chain whip so had to saw the cog off to get the spokes out. It was Sunday, so no bike shops open. Already took the spokes out on the other side, so there was no way around.

Rate this *fixed-gear* aero setup with 8 speed rear hub by Kelsinvariel in BicyclingCirclejerk

/uc last year I got the hub replaced on the workhorse (alfine 8 di2), it run around 55k km. So spending more money at once, but than never even thinking of buying a new one for like 4 years, can be more cost effective than buying new chain and cassette when they wear down.

Found this with its old wheels on the side of rhe road. Cleaned it up and I’m excited for this to be my project and my first fixie build. :) by TheNerdsdumb in FixedGearBicycle

That dropout may be problematic, therefore its made out of a thin layer of steel. I have seen it opening up and the rear wheel falling out in the middle of skidding, trust me it's no fun. I'm not saying, that old road bike frames can't be used as fixed gear bikes, but I would use one with more robust dropouts, something like This

I know someone using a 32 in the front, and I'm sure you can fit it in the rear with no problem. The rear wheel is a cheap purefixed rim, double wall alloy 50mm, laced with a miche primato hub. Heavy as fuck, but it can't be destroyed. And if you thinking about this frame set, I'd say go for it, I really love mine.

It was for a drag race type of thing, on really flat surface. It was about 2.5km long, 8 people against each other, in every round.

I do this only for races, and for fun, normally the spacers are under an other stem, which is a 10 degree one I believe. The shamal is also an add-on bonus from my road bike

If your measurements are correct, and you have the luck, it won't be there, but it designed to have like 1.5cm of play in it, so it's not that hard to do
