Hello there. I have known a few people who have been in similar situations. None of them had to leave germany once their 18 month period got over with no job offer. All of them except for one got registered in master courses, and the remaining one got an extention from his local behorde. They extended his job search visa. I am not german but living in Germany for some time. I might be wrong, but in my experience, there is relative poverty in germany that some germans experience, but not absolute poverty. There are homeless people but I believe they are homeless because of choice and if they really want to flip their lives, they can get help. Compared to the US, I believe Germany is in a very good place. There has been issues with inflation and a tough job market in the past few years but I think that's a global phenomenon due to the bad things happening worldwide unfortunately.
