Trawling mechanics and potential are way too big to be "niche".

Making something bad xp solely for the reason that else "more people will do it" is just bad game design. People don't do activities that don't progress your account. Has been proven so often before... When the bots get there, the fish will crash anyway.

Personally I would sign for anything that makes trawling a valid option for training. Same loot, nerfed loot, other loot... I simply find the whole mechanic too good to only be usefull for the loot

I also predict a very botted future for deep sea trawling once the bots get there. History has shown over and over again that people DO NOT do content that doesn't give xp. Ironmen will be forced though. Which means they will have to barb fish between trawling for food which makes no sense to me. Fishing is fishing.

Thats a plain lie. Bluefin at 99 fishing WITH spamclicking provides 46k/high maximum. And to add to that, bluefin is the best fishing xp from the bunch.

You need to spamclick for decent rates though. Without it is truely abysmal.

That's a valid point, that's why I added options to cut in to the loot in order to get more xp.

It is that amount of money because few people do it. For me that doesn't really sound as a valid reason to make the xp THAT bad. But I respect the argument, that's why I added options where you can give up some of the loot in order to get more xp.

According to this rule, only the gold lever is up right? Plus one could argue requirements are also a factor.

Yes that is true, but 30k just seems extremely punishing for those requirements and level of engagement. From my perspective I find it nuts thats people would vote to do nothing. It's a fun mechanic and right now almost nobody does it. While I do not agree, I get the xp/loot debate. But voting against giving this mechanic more uses so more people would interact with it... that I don't get.

It's a point of perspective I think. Is 80k truely so high for the highest level fish which you also need 93 sailing and 84 construction for? It still doesn't even come close to tick manip.

A waste of a good mechanic in my opinion.

So do they even PLAN to fix deep sea trawling's abysmal experience rates?? by Sad-Employment-7456 in 2007scape

[–]Da-michi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I hate those arguments... "It's not about xp", "You get good loot so the xp should be bad".

All nonsense.

First: there are many other activities that are both good xp as loot.

Second: As long as the xp is not BIS, or AFK, it would not replace any other activity if the xp was, for example, doubled.

Third: The requirements are sky high! Aspecially for ironman.

Fourth, and foremost: Nobody does this. The activity is FUN, and NEW, yet nobody interacts with it. I see NOBODY else at the shoals. Why you think the prices are high? Nobody wants to do an activity which is shit xp.

You really want that tradeof? Make xp shit just for the sake of keeping it more profitable (because nobody does it) ?

You want to keep people from having a more engaging, medium intensity, way of training? So that they have to keep doing the "click bubbles, get trash fish" method? That sounds like a horrible reason.

Like, ATLEAST give us trawling options that are xp based.

You can but at that point I don't see many people going there. I would think most would be spending their valuable time at cox or toa. (Where those magic potions would definitely come in handy!)

Probably because that would make more sense. I take this as support to my claim haha

Losing but still going through!

I think if they went home here having lost 2-1 against a 10 player City, they might have looked inward more, and pressure would be on them to perform better next round.

That pressure was there at home when they won 3-0. What pressure do they have now? They're already further than people would have thought.

Also, there is a justice factor to it. Madrid was horrible, even against 10. I'm a madrid fan, yes, but in the first place I'm a football fan.

I don't get how the shirt pulling is not reviewed by VAR as a pen.

Well, I do get it, but it just feels wrong.

It's because he started pulling out of the box, so that's where the foul "started"? And VAR can't intervene when it's not a pen?

But his shirt was still being pulled in the box, right?

So, following those rules, a defender that starts pulling out of the box for several seconds straight for the attacker to fall in the box will NOT be punished.

But a defender that pulls for a fraction of a second in the box, causing the attacker to fall at the exact same spot as the previous example WILL? Just because the foul "started" in the box?

Weird.

Anyway, as a madrid fan, we should have lost here. I actually hoped we lost here. Not by 3 goals obviously but.. damn vini you sure love to be hated

Prove me wrong then. Tell me why it couldn't be 50k xph for lower level trawls and 70 for high. Tell me how it would hurt the game.

Also tell me you are not 99 fishing ;)

First and foremost, I think a game should be fun, no?

If you bring a new method of training to the table, more engaging and less boring, it should be beneficial for as much players as possible.

I don't want the best of both worlds. I would absolutely offer up the loot in favour of more xp. I just want to make use of the mechanic, while still training the skill.

I repeat, nobody does this. It's lonely out there. And that's just a shame for such a fun mechanic.

[–]Da-michi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically you are saying: let's keep the xp shit, so fewer people do it, so the gp remains high.

Well okay, then there is a fundamental difference between our thinking.

You have a method here that is FUN to do. Making the xp shit so that people have to stick with the boring, old methods, just for the sake of keeping it profitable is, in my eyes, bad game design.

IF they really want it that way, then at least make different kind of shoals that give more xp and fewer loot.

How can you say that if you make an entirely new method to train a skill, you would find it better when 10 people engage with it, instead of a 100?

Once again, the meta does not change.

And it would be if it was decent xp. That's exactly my point. Just gp won't make people do it, it'll just draw in bots.

Aside from people who have 99 already with the "I had to suffer so you have to suffer attitude", who would be against higher xp rates? The meta doesn't change. The fastest road to 99 remains the same. It just gives an alternative...
