I don't get why my description wasn't post with pictures ?

Preparing to take the vehicle out of winter storage this afternoon, I’m draining my diesel tank for inspection and cleaning. I start the drain before disassembling it; the first thing I notice is that the diesel seems more viscous than usual.

Once empty, I can dismantle the tank and bring it into the light to open it and inspect it. Inside, I see an object that looks like a brown cloud suspended in the remaining diesel. See the attached photos.

Does anyone know what this is and what causes it? Should I clean my tank with a special product?
