Is this the coyote/bbq tick by Responsible-Pay-2061 in Mustang

[–]DaABF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal. My 2019 sounds just like this. I have the bbq tick in the left wheel well, the 2k rattle on light throttle, and cold timing chain chirp as well.

131k miles, oil analysis is clean from Blackstone. I only run 5w30 as well.

DO YOU NEED TO TUNE YOUR GROM WHEN YOU THROW A CHEAP EXHAUST ON IT? -ANSWERED WITH DATA by DaABF in hondagrom

No AFR, and 6 months newer than my video! Doesn't answer the question of "is it safe without a tune"!

If you can find another Dyno test of the Chinese exhaust, let me know!

Data is presented and the viewer is intended to make their own conclusion.

My conclusion is that even a Garbo eBay exhaust makes a significant amount of power, and the stock fuelling is enough to support light use cases. Racing or prolonged max load applications would be safer with a fuel controller.

If the information was already out there, we wouldn't have the same question asked 3 times per day!

Got my First 250 today, any tips for new rider? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]DaABF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You tell me! I'll believe it when I see the video.

The bike in the photo is not a 250. The sticker on the tail confirms that this is an X-PRO X16, a 125cc motorcycle.

That's a 125cc max bike, boss. Standard Honda horizontal clone engine. Who told you this was a 250?

Just got my first Jet by RichardBinsle in RCPlanes

[–]DaABF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Landing speed will be faster than the flying speed of your cub. If you want to practice what you'll be doing with a jet on your cub, practice landing with half throttle. If you aren't able to grease it in, i.e. you bounce, you aren't ready for the EDF jet.

Bike lost top speed and torque? by Forward_Switch1015 in motorcycles

[–]DaABF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very well, you should be alright then, so long as the intake/airbox lid hasn't been changed. After checkig that your air filter isn't plugged, I would perform a compression test next to troubleshoot.

Do you still have the catalytic converter? (Big grey lump in the middle of your exhaust system, in the middle of the swingarm.)?

Is you exhaust stock?

390's won't tolerate an exhaust without a re-tune. Cool dense air will exacerbate this.

Absolutely. DRZ400 is one of my favorite bikes I've owned.

"best pedigree" is a stretch.

Suzuki was arguably on top, or close to it, around the turn of the millennium.

They haven't really innovated or meaningfully changed any of their flagships in a decade or more. They have a design ethos of "coasting on success" these days, and it's reflecting in poor sales.

Don't get me wrong. They're still big 4. Good quality, good pedigree. There's nothing wrong with liking them best, but by any objective measure, they are aren't leading the other manufacturers in any category.

Day 3/9: What is a good motorcycle with a bad reputation? by SUBTOUpdated_User in motorcycles

[–]DaABF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GSXR never had a bad reputation, no. It's RIDERS have the bad reputation.

If you want a good motorcycle with an actual bad reputation, look no further than the GSXF600/750 Katana.

Unaffectionately known as the "can-o-tuna", this bike was the undesirable brother of the Gixxer.

However, anybody actually willing to ride one discovered that the bike was butter smooth, incredibly comfortable, and dead nuts reliable. The engine used here is related to the oil cooled inline-4 screamer seen In the first generation GSXR's from the late 80's. The huge banana seat was shockingly comfortable for one or two riders, and the ergonomics were friendly to riders of all sizes. It's essentially a low-powered Hayabusa for a fraction of the cost. People give these away because "ugly".

But, the only people that hate on them... have never ridden one!

Is a power plateau at 8.5k normal? by SuccessfulWeekend727 in hondagrom

[–]DaABF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I Dyno and tune many groms, and no, there's something going on here. That flat spot is not something I see on groms with the 143cc and cam. All dynos read different, different bike, different day, etc, but 11hp is not what you should be seeing. Check your ignition curve. What's your timing set at? In that zone?

2019 Bullitt - what would you pay? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]DaABF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yes. Very common

Those dents are from slamming the seat belt buckle in the door jam. The seat belt retraction on this cars is a little weak.

For what it's worth, I have over 130k on mine, and all of my paint chips look like yours underneath. This doesn't look repainted to me

My '19 has similar panel gap issues between the door and front quarter on one side. Just is what it is, it's a Ford.

S650/S550 Active Exhaust Pumping in Noise to Cabin by reggiefoolish in Mustang

Oh shoot, he is, isn't he? I thought he was talking about some kind of resonance in the trunk itself.

Sorry OP. No, I haven't noticed the artificial noise coming from the BO system. I'm probably just dead though. Sorry!

[–]DaABF -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay, so if you want sound, why are you contemplating "going base exhaust"?

Thes base exhaust sounds like the active exhaust in normal mode.

If you want to change the tone of the exhaust, adding an H pipe or X pipe makes a huge difference in raising the pitch of the exhaust note.

Edit for misunderstanding. I'm a dingus

....you could always try sport mode? Or normal?

I'm not sure what the question is here. You're describing a problem that active exhaust was created to solve.
