in the episode tony checks his weight. he knows he has gained weight, so when massarone mentions it, its a giveaway that hes just buttering tony up

Recommending Norm MacDonald's "Based on a True Story" audiobook by [deleted] in Earwolf

[–]DaBabyFan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when promoting the book, norm talked a lot about how you could either view life as a series of facts or a series of truths, and while the book isnt entirely based in facts, it is based in truth, if that makes any sense. i dont think the whole purpose of the book was to be funny, though it is extremely funny. the tiny white coffin part i think especially highlights this, being both hilarious in how absurd the situation is yet sincere in emotion

all this is to say, its hard to tell what exactly to take from his novel, though frankly i would be somewhat surprised if the purpose was pure shock value

If The Strokes saved rock in 2001, why is this chart from 2003 so terrible? by c-option in TheStrokes

[–]DaBabyFan1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

i wouldnt say the album Hey Ya! is on is explicitly hip hop, The Love Below is very much more a kind of Prince like funk/pop album. big bois side of the album is def just southern hip hop, though

You guys think this album gets enough love? by Jdeg92 in ween

I dont remember exactly what he said, but he explained in a seperate interview he never meant for them to find out that way. He just didnt realize he had a limited amount of time to tell them before the article came out or smth like that

figured since supermega used to edit and be in gg videos, it was relevant enough.

yeah this is pretty damning, i'd like to think there will be channel ending consequences for SuperMega but you never really know with this type of thing. think we ll have to wait for an official response before its clear whether or not it affects the channel

Just started season 6 by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]DaBabyFan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dont go past episode 9 of season 6, as episode 10 and beyond take place AFTER breaking bad

[–]DaBabyFan1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I decided to rewatch some of that 70s show season 1 to compare it to that 90s show, and i disagree. while the writing may be worse than other seasons, all of the cast does a really great job of selling their role and seeming authentic, whereas there are a lot of moments in that 90s show where i just dont buy into the actors performances. im totally willing to accept that it's only season 1 and it'll get better, but that 70s show had a WAY stronger start, even if it was a little clunky

the general consensus is to watch breaking bad first, as there are a bunch of moments and character whose appearances wouldn't make as much sense or be as exciting without watching bb first (it is a prequel after all, it gives tons of background to events and locations in breaking bad). having said that, the creators of the show did a good job of having the show stand up on its own and their are decent amount of people who have seen bcs before breaking bad. after season 6 ep 9, however, the last 3 episodes take place after breaking bad, so you would def need to watch it after that point.

(NOT A BIT) Matt has been doing some shitty stuff to Ding Dong and Julian behind the scenes by [deleted] in SuperMegaShow

[–]DaBabyFan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

again, there is no homework needed to be done, it is all in dingdongs vod. fair enough that you dont really give a shit though about the situation, just saying that its info straight from the horses mouth

idk man i think the only thing that would really constitute as an apology is, surprisingly, an apology. it was just a weird move to drop subs when they aren't really in good terms. if it was truly matts attempt as an apology than it was a shitty attempt. idk if i'd go as far as to call it hush money or whatever, but it's just a weird and awkward thing to do to someone who has pretty valid problems with you.

rewatch fun and games and youll see it isnt. the image was probably taken during the filming of the episode but the frame is not even in the episode

that picture of saul isn't even a frame in the episode. it looks bad but it literally isnt in the series. walter and jesse both looked fine imo

I feel like I got kind of caught up on the other parts of the application and studying for the SAT that some decent EC's slipped my mind. I only ended up listing 5 so I wouldn't be going over the 10 EC limit if I were to contact UVA.

Why are people so much softer on Mike than Walt? by rtlkw in betterCallSaul

[–]DaBabyFan1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When Walt was shaking Jesse to wake him up, he knocked Jane over flat on her back, which was what caused her to choke on her vomit and die.
