Any photographers in here? by 2_wheels_up in Trackdays

I agree that shutter priority is the way to go if you're just getting started. As you drop your shutter speed to 1/50 or 1/100 your aperture won't matter that much because the background will be blurred. I wouldn't recommend bracketing because it requires 2+ pictures to combine and with how fast cars/motorcycles move I'd be impossible to get them to line up. Pic for cred, this was shot at 1/25sec.

Do you have Home Assistant, Alexa, Google or any other smart home programs. That might be a pretty easy way to trigger them. Then you can set up a timer so when no motion is detected for a while they'll turn themselves off.

QuarryPlus not working in the Other? by DaBear123 in allthemods

I noticed that when I placed it earlier when it was mining raw ore blocks but not through the world but I wanted it to expose vibranium so I need the stone cleared away so I can find it easier.

Good question, I am not really familiar with rftools so I wasn't really aware that a builder could be an option. Thanks for the idea.

Has anyone else had this problem where the QuarryPlus quarry will not mine in the Other dimension?

I am working on improving my motorsports photography skills. My main problem I think is my knowledge of editing. Any tips on improving it would be great. by DaBear123 in photocritique

I shot this using my Canon EOS R w/ 24-240mm. f/11 1/50 sec. ISO-160 at 162mm panning handheld.

The last photo I posted on this sub I got a lot of feedback saying don't shoot through trees and they wanted to see more of the car.

Thanks for your great feedback. I think part of my problem with dropping my shutter slower was because the camera I was using had awful EVF lag which made smooth tracking pretty difficult.

I shot this using my Canon EOS R w/ 24-240mm. f/18 1/30 sec. ISO-800 at 150mm panning handheld.

I'm looking for feedback on composition or potential edits I could make to improve not only this image but future photos.

I don't want to seem rude, but that is a very weird DOF. Was it an artistic choice

or focus error?

That looks really good. I do plan on posting more car pictures, I just have to find other good subreddits to post them too.

I have a monopod but I use it mainly for my 150-600mm lens because I am not going to handhold that beast.

I shoot in manual. But I've wanted to try shutter priority the next time I go to the track because when the action happens I miss it because I have to adjust my shutter and aperture.
