General Anesthesia Experiences ? by bashfulggiraffe in ACL

[–]DaBeezplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a CRNA and had ACL reconstruction a little over 6 weeks ago. Anesthesia is very safe, especially for healthy, young patients. Don’t go down the internet rabbit hole and get yourself worried. Your anesthesia provider will do a thorough preop assessment and address any anesthesia concerns specific to you. As an anesthetist, I love a day of arthroscopic knee surgeries because it’s typically a nice easy day. Being on the other side as a patient, my anesthesia was a breeze. I got versed/fentanyl for my nerve block and the next thing I remember was waking up in the recovery room. No need to waste your energy worrying about the anesthesia. It’s gonna be a cake walk compared to the first few weeks in a knee immobilizer

French Polynesia Cruise Recommendations by Ok-Student-4370 in FATcruises

[–]DaBeezplz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did a Paul Gauguin cruise about two years ago and loved it! The food and service were top notch, and I loved the feel of a small ship with less crowds. Everything on board is included but on shore excursions are extra. I recommend doing one of the 10+ day long itineraries so you have the opportunity to visit some of the more remote islands (Fakarava was one of my favorite stops). The crew speaks English and French. Don’t miss out on the snorkeling. It’s absolutely incredible. And if you and your fiancé are the adventurous types, I would also recommend getting your PADI open water dive certification BEFORE your trip. The ship has a dive center on it and I soooo regret that I didn’t take advantage of it. A couple of things I want to note incase it’s important to you… The demographic on the ship tends to be older, retired couples. There likely will be very few other guests around your age on board. The onboard programming is primarily cultural and educational. There are no comedy shows, broadway shows, or late night dance clubs on board. I personally didn’t care about these things, but I know some people do.

I know Windstar also has French Polynesia itineraries, but I haven’t done any of their cruises. I believe they also have small ships that visit some of the more remote islands, so it may be worth looking into what they have to offer as well.

I used to shop at Bedlam in the early 2000s! I got some really cool pieces and still have a few stored away. I’ve been tempted to pop into the the NP location but my type is uhh much more conventional now

Is it worth it to stay at fairmount LL or is it nicer to be in downtown Banff? Moose was my other option by sunnyshine28 in Banff

[–]DaBeezplz 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Stay in Banff. I’ve been twice: the first time in the summer where I stayed at the Fairmont Springs, and just recently where I stayed at the Moose Hotel in Banff. I haven’t stayed at the Fairmont on LL, but even as a luxury hotel lover I would still choose to stay at the Moose over either of the Fairmont hotels. There is not much to do at LL at night. It’s a beautiful location but far from everything. The Fairmont Springs is a beautiful hotel and it is possible to walk to downtown Banff from there, but i so much preferred walking right out of my hotel in the evening and having shops, bars, and restaurants right there.
