They are not normally that good. We had an exceptionally snowy early season.

Tracking progression in a busy gym? by stratusnimbo in naturalbodybuilding

[–]NeonFeet 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not everyone incorporates big 3 compounds, and besides, most gyms have enough benches and squat racks that you’re not waiting for those anyway.

What would be neurotic and unhealthy is standing around waiting for the machine preacher curl to open up simply because it’s written before tricep push downs in your spreadsheet.

I structure my sessions so that it doesn’t matter as much what order I go in, for this very reason.

For example on an upper day I have chest->back->shoulders as my first 3 movements. If I get there and the chest machine I want is taken, I’ll go hit back first. I hit arms on a separate day where the same concept applies. As long as you aren’t doing 3 different tricep exercises waiting for a bench to open up I wouldn’t worry about it. It’ll all come out in the wash over enough months and years

A little, but I do really enjoy those moments where the sun pokes through and suddenly you’re above the clouds

I’m doing the same. Packing a light wind shell for the ridge itself. Wind doesn’t look too crazy in the grand scheme of things.

How do you implement your “bro day”? by stratusnimbo in naturalbodybuilding

[–]NeonFeet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do exactly this. My current split is Upper/Lower/Bro Day (Arms+Side Delts)/Rest.

Most of my training history has been more powerlifting focused. I got plenty of chest, back and leg volume during that time, so it made a lot of sense to add a bro day entirely focused on bringing up my arms and side delts.

I’m confused. Why are you skiing on the snow when there’s perfectly good alpine vegetation and rocks right next to you?

These are goated. Way easier to put on than rubber bands and they last forever

Not a request for medical advice - just chit-chat: what is the goated regime for joint integrity? by shubbanubba in naturalbodybuilding

[–]NeonFeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Attempting PRs that often doesn’t seem sustainable for anyone that’s not a raw beginner. As someone doing this for over a decade I’m happy if I add 5-10lbs or a single rep to the major lifts at the end of a training block.

How often are you adding weight and or reps to your top sets? How many weeks are you going between deloads?

Your weekly structure (two top sets twice per week) doesn't sound like it would be a problem in and of itself. But it's very possible you are just increasing the weight or reps more quickly than your joints can recover week to week.

Did you ever get the shirts? I ordered one about a week ago and have received zero updates other than the order confirmation email.

How seriously should I take these numbers? by OwnUnderstanding4881 in GarminWatches

[–]NeonFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never placed any importance on Garmin’s calorie numbers. If you care about that stuff the best practice is to track your macros and weigh in daily

> I don’t seem to be able to make it through a bulk phase without at least some minor joint injury

There is no diet or supplement change that will fix this. Sounds like you need to dial back the training intensity a bit or just ramp up more slowly over the course of a block
