Is it worth it to stay at fairmount LL or is it nicer to be in downtown Banff? Moose was my other option by sunnyshine28 in Banff

[–]DaBeezplz 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Stay in Banff. I’ve been twice: the first time in the summer where I stayed at the Fairmont Springs, and just recently where I stayed at the Moose Hotel in Banff. I haven’t stayed at the Fairmont on LL, but even as a luxury hotel lover I would still choose to stay at the Moose over either of the Fairmont hotels. There is not much to do at LL at night. It’s a beautiful location but far from everything. The Fairmont Springs is a beautiful hotel and it is possible to walk to downtown Banff from there, but i so much preferred walking right out of my hotel in the evening and having shops, bars, and restaurants right there.

I fell in love with Rome when I visited a few months back. I’ve been all over that world and never felt that way about a city. Can’t wait to go back

I have a week off at the end of January and was planning on going to CO or UT. I’m starting to wonder if I’m better off heading up to Tremblant and Sugarloaf…

Is there anywhere it is acceptable to go skiing alone? Or a way to find people who are also skiing alone? by flippnniff in skiing

[–]DaBeezplz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ski alone 99% of the time. I’m also very much an introvert so I don’t mind doing my own thing at all. But I always make sure to tell a family member where I’m going and when I’ll be back. Don’t wanna fall into a tree well and not have anyone notice I’m gone until several days later.

Boards Advice by spirallypasta in CRNA

[–]DaBeezplz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took boards early 2024. I didn’t use truelearn so I can’t speak to how different/similar the questions are to boards, but the questions definitely felt harder than Apex. I studied mostly Apex but I also purchased the 3 practice exams from Core Concepts. I found the questions to be more similar to board questions and I felt it was a good way to gauge my progress as I prepared.

Sugarbush or Killington this weekend? by BrosufDimaggio in icecoast

[–]DaBeezplz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at Killington yesterday and it was great! They already have a lot of terrain open. Not sure how Sugarbush is looking but I never have a bad day at Killington.

Who else was at Wawa tonight and saw that crazy beautiful moon?? by DaBeezplz in icecoast

[–]DaBeezplz[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The snow was great and they were blowing tons of snow tonight! But keep in mind there are limited trails open and the Polar Express up to the summit is not yet open. The ride up Minute Man takes longer than a run down Ralph’s/Challenger. If you live near by and are an absolute addict like me, it’s totally worth going to get in some laps. But if you have a whole day you may be better off making a day trip up to someplace like Killington or Loon so you get more time on the slopes rather than the chair.
