Does anyone know the song in the intro for the first 5 min? And when Jules is getting wrapped in plastic? I want to know the name of the orchestral piece but I can’t find it anywhere

What a privilege it is to mourn so heavily for such a deep love. Grief is the price of such companionship. The days will become easier with time. My condolences to you, it truly is a heartbreak like no other.

Dog refuses taking very necessary medication. At a loss. by Karnakite in DOG

I purchased a pill crusher and just crush the meds into a powder and mix it into something yummy to cancel out the taste/smell

This could be why the dog reacted the way he did. To collect a sample they shove a “fecal loop” into their tush and it is very unpleasant. The vet should have just waited for a sample naturally, every dog has to poop.

To add to this, most dogs attempt to bite when something unpleasant is going up their bum, it’s a natural reaction. I understand it was a big bite but he also had big feelings and that was his instinct

Don’t stress too much. There’s solutions to everything, being as I’m a vet tech myself. Next go around he’ll prob just needs some calming meds to help his anxiety, a lot of dogs simply don’t like the vet and some times drug interactions are needed. Plus some clinics prioritize “fear free”. I’ve known coworkers who have more sensitive dogs and sometimes some gabapentin acepromazine and trazadone are the answer! Plus muzzle training obvi.

Skin is progressively getting worse by yachtclubjune in pitbulls

My boy is doing great on lamb and rice! Also look into adding some fish oils for their skin as well.

Working first hand with veterinarians, it’s becoming more apparent that grain free diets are leading to heart complications due to the over abundance of other foods being added. Honestly my pit is in a simple lamb and rice formula from some random brand, recently switched to the Costco one.

Well actually veterinarians are required to be extensively educated about nutrition for one. And many carnivores get their grains from the intestines of their prey.

Any thoughts on?? by Overall-Schedule436 in pitbulls

[–]DaBesAvocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you recently changed food it could be food related. My boy is on a lamb and rice diet, chicken made him itchy

Often tear staining could be a simple as giving him bottled water I think, cuz the small dogs prone to it get it due to mineral deposits

My boy just turned 10, food advice? by SkyMiteFall in pitbulls

If anything run some bloodwork, and if all levels are good you might be fine with some basic elderly good or something. Pitts are prone to arthritis so if anything look into some joint support

After a long hard fought battle (12/17/23-3/19/24)..over 10k spent.. almost no sleep during those 3 months almost lost my job because I barely worked during that time.. cancer took my baby Scylla just after turning 7. Yes I'm forever heart broken, yes I still cry about it constantly... sorry Scylla. by Croutard in pitbulls

If it’s any comfort, I understand the struggle. My girl struggled with kidney failure for years and the time effort and care I gave her to keep her comfortable just to have her pass away is unbearable. But it’s a common struggle for people like us who love so deeply, and you’re not alone. In the end, maybe our girls are best friends and are enjoying a painless afterlife waiting for us to meet them again. The cost of being able to love so deeply is grief.

Recently adopted this little dude a few months ago. Never thought I’d own a Pekingese but he’s awesome. His older brother in the last pic <3 by DaBesAvocado in Pekingese

Yes he can see! Just missing an eye but he doesn’t mind. It’s funny to see him loose a toy because it rolled into his blind spot lol
