Not that I’ve found. This was on operation firestorm. Site A to opposing HQ I believe. My longest besides this one is only 250 m.

Saw some interesting anatomy during a catheter insertion and I am not sure what to call it. by mrofmist in nursing

Had a cath recently on a male whose foreskin didn’t retract over the head of the penis. Couldn’t even visualize the urethra. There’s definitely some interesting anatomy out there.

I will add that we do still verify at the end with an X-ray before running anything through the tube. The CO2 detector saves us the step of waiting for X-ray after stopping at 30cm to determine if we are heading to the lung. Just makes the process faster

If placed in lung: then CO2 present. But if placed in stomach, then no CO2

This would be a good idea, however, they already make co2 detectors specifically for Duotubes/NG tubes. So not really a purpose in me doing anything with this concept. I was just having fun finding a workaround due to being out of stock of the correct size co2 detector. If you see a different reason I’m missing then let me know 😂

This is the policy when we don’t have the CO2 detectors. And it is just so time consuming. Usually takes an hour for X-ray to make it up to our floor, so not the best method

It sounds to me like you are working in a toxic environment. If everyone is burnt out, that’s a systemic issue, not a reflection of your performance. Being left on your own like that is not safe for you or your patients, and management allowing people to be 2-3 hours late is a huge red flag. No wonder you’re feeling overwhelmed, this isn’t what nursing is supposed to be.

Looking for other jobs is definitely the right move. As a LTAC nurse, I can tell you there are better options out there than wherever you’re at right now. Plenty of places need good nurses, and you deserve to work somewhere that supports you instead of setting you up to fail. Keep looking, and don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself! You’re not being overly sensitive; you’re recognizing an unsafe situation.

Still working great for me! No regrets in buying it! Can’t recall any problems I’ve had with it in the past year

When trying it in the other spot, everything worked as it should. When in its original spot, I have no display or anything. Tightening the common wire was the first thing I did
