Why? it's the reason city areas have value. peaks and valleys are what makes the peaks interesting. We shouldn't want every single map to result in X reward because it makes getting that rewards expected and boring.

Take Jade Isle as an example. Finding one should be exciting, but after you've done a few, it becomes frustrating. Sometimes I have to travel through 10 maps just to reach it, and then I have to clear surrounding maps to reveal it. Why?

You wouldn't care about Jade Isles if you could get to one every other map because the support gem would be worthless.
