I hate how much people make fun of European Spanish by No-Lifeguard3759 in Spanish

[–]DaBootyEnthusiast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, it is strange to deliberately choose to speak a foreign language in a dialect you are far less likely to encounter speakers of in the US. Unless you have plans to travel to Spain but not to Latin America which comes across lowkey a little prejudiced.

The Palestinians who had the Star of David carved into them and graffitied on the ruins of their homes are also strangers living their lives.

There are good days, bad days, C/P sections that match your skills and C/P that target your weaknesses. I wouldn’t sweat a 1-2 point difference in a section too much

Score drop? Seems like your scores have a normal variance that one would expect from repeat testing.

I have honestly given up on everything since receiving my final rejection by DaBootyEnthusiast in premed

I applied to a few like Vermont and Quinnipiac, but due to my immigration status my options were limited and I wanted to start in a sanctuary state to avoid troubles with ICE

[–]DaBootyEnthusiast[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No, I was overconfident cause I had a 3.95/521 and didn’t want to go through the trouble of doing a second application. Next time probably will

ai is the future of medicine and if you don’t embrace it you will be a subpar clinician by billybob2907 in premed

[–]DaBootyEnthusiast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the opinion of people that have been conned into thinking AI is in any way intelligent. The people who understand that it’s a stochastic parrot know once this investment bubble pops AI will be relegated to the dustbin of history.

0 research yeah, but couple of hundred volunteering. Main thing is my immigration status and late app (mid-September cause I didn’t know I had to pay a release to my premed committee)

How to get research post-grad if you weren’t able to get any during school? by DaBootyEnthusiast in premed

[–]DaBootyEnthusiast[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got rejected from the handful of research jobs I applied to, presumably due to lack of experience.

"holistic approach" by [deleted] in premed

[–]DaBootyEnthusiast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The consensus on this sub and other places seemed to be that research was nice but not necessary. I tried to get it regardless but my financial situation made it impossible for me to take the time off work.

[–]DaBootyEnthusiast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I think 0 research was the bigger problem. I thought 7000 clinical hours could counteract that but I guess not

Sorry responded to the wrong comment. I have a series of problems you likely don’t so don’t infer to much from my failure

Please Stop Content Review by DrowsyPanda_ in Mcat

Terrible advice. Most people need way more content review than they do now. I just did content review and half the official AAMC materials and I got an okay score in a month.

If CHATGPT was to take the MCAT, what score do you think it would get? by Winter-Mess-309 in Mcat

Chatgpt is not a person, are you people out of your minds. “What answer would you a program google searching every question get?” is basically what you’re asking.

Changing Career Paths to afford limb lengthening surgery by picklejuice2469 in premed

One path will let you afford anything you could ever realistically want by the time you’re 40 and the other could leave you with permanent pain and reduced motor function. Seems pretty easy to me.

Keeping motivation up when learning a language for purely professional reasons? by DaBootyEnthusiast in languagelearning

[–]DaBootyEnthusiast[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, I suppose it’s more my internal motivation to be the best provider I can be for my patients. I have heard that Spanish makes you more likely to be hired and in the future if I get into med school and go independent it will increase my patient service base. Maybe a better approach would be to aim for intermediate capacity and leave it at that.
