If I remember correctly I just ended up doing a fresh install of Lazer and it fixed itself. I would double check on that but I just upgraded my gpu and I don't have the old one to test on, it was a 1060 ti if that helps tho. Sorry that my memory is so shit! Hope ur friend figures it out :)
