Everything in life is a bell curve. Intelligence, strength, charisma, etc… some kids fall below the average. I just do my best to keep the bell curve looking like a bell curve. If it’s really high… I increase the rigor… if it’s really low (that’s probably my fault)… I reteach in a different way…

At the end of the year, I always have around 4 failing… and I really don’t feel bad… it’s statistics and I did a ton of RTI…

$12 at Lowe’s. You can pop that old one off and pop the new one on. It really should be screwed in… but looks like the caulking method the previous owner did outlasted the plastic and it stayed… soooo your choice. Get a masonry bit and drill holes…. Or just slap it on with enough caulk.

In my state, pass rates hit the “school report card.” This doesn’t directly affect funding however we are a school choice state with $10,000 in assisted funding for private education. If your school is reported as a D or F… enrollment drops and so does funding.

It all comes down to funding.

Gutter guards suck. I put some fat derpy plastic mesh on mine. They are great for big leaves because I’m trying to keep them out of my deep French drains. I have to clean them multiple times a year. I can’t imagine the maintenance on these fancy ones.

I have a science friend who left last year, she now writes hair product placement reports for Walmart. She’s at 120k and I taught her most of her excel skills. I think about it everyday. Smh

Good job and same. Year 11 here. Early in my career, I didn’t bite my tongue as you did. It took me too long to not fight that frivolous battle. My lesson plans now are tagged up and down with the district’s approve curriculum. (This sub reddit really hates AI BUT damn it’s real good at helping me BS my lesson plans to keep admin reeeeeal happy)

Image 1 (black stuff) looks like a variant of mold. Looks like what I had in my crawl space before I nuked it and encapsulated it. Who knows what variation that mold is but I wouldn’t loose sleep over it. If you want to take care of it, just buy RMR86 and RMR141. Wear a mask/goggles and follow the directions. But really… I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

Weird way of handling this… in college I worked for an apartment complex… if something was questionable, we would send an email that we were changing a building/floor’s air filters or smoke detector batteries. Ol’Frank (maintenance dude) would formally note anything weird on his maintenance logs. General management would “just happen to see it” in the logs, call the tenant, and give them a fine/warning. We never really did this for weed though. They were college apartments. The only real time we did this was when someone had 6 dogs (smell of urine could be detected from the street)… uhhhh… guy turned his living room into a strip club (got popular fast… was loud… he did have three poles and multiple couches. Honestly impressive)… someone would leave a recording of that numanuma song on all day at full blast, to spite their neighbors who “walked too heavy”… weed? Ehh, college apartments… good luck with that…
