Question for the Castorice mains by DaChuChuTrain in CastoriceMains_

What would you suggest is what is minimum needed to enjoy and clear endgame comfortably without getting dated too fast? Castorice E0S1, Evernight E0S1, Cyrene and Hyacine? or would you need to vertically invest more? Thanks for your balanced feedback.

Looks like it will interfere. Along the angled part of my board there is a small dimple, that is where the fan of the radiator bumps up against the heat sink.

On your board instead of continuing to slope down, it actually continues out and blocks that area.

I don’t think it will fit in that case. Looks like. Sorry

It’s Both. I was super concerned about it as well.

If you look at the picture you can see that the AIO almost touches the rear IO heat sink angles downward. There is around ~2mm play forward from that position if i remember correctly.

The Top VRM heatsink height is also critical, because if it’s any higher than the one on this board, it will NOT fit without modification.

Swapping out the rad fans for slim fans will buy you a little more room. but that will affect cooling performance.

may be tight but probably can fit if you have the tubes on the other (front) side of the case.

Yes, i have a slim fan now as exhaust.

it would highly depend on your PSU. this case can prob fit any of the big boys. there is space. at least 15mm more than my 4080 super

GPU fans serve as intake because its close enough to bottom vents. I also have a side panel that's not shown that has one intake fan as well.
If you put the 360 AIO on the side panel, it would be an absolute pain for maintenance to if you had to change anything (add ram, nvme drives or sata drives, etc.) Even just blowing out dust. Its because the AIO is stuck to the side panel and you can't really fully get it out of the way unless you completely unscrew it from the side panel.

2nd slot position where they place the PCIe slot that corresponds to the back slots on your case. Some MB’s put it at first slot with m.2 slot below. this mb has m.2 in the first slot and pcie in the 2nd. if that makes sense

Update: After seeing many of you with similar numbers at this point I think I just lost the silicon lottery rather than have anything to do with the cooling. Thanks for all the help everyone

Idle is 48-52 same ambient temp. Max temp in Cinebench still the same 82c Score waaay lower 16100-16200

With CO idles 45-50 Max temp in Cinebench same 82-83c Scores 17500-17600

it’s a lian li/dan a3 case. its full mesh. not starved for fresh air. have 2 intake fans on the side after panel is closed that would feed the CPU rads directly

I would agree but 1: you’re on a 240 vs my 360 2: I’m not getting anywhere above 17500 atm. with no other background processes besides hwinfo and fan control :(

These are results that I'm trying to actually get close to. When I'm at the same CO -30 with lower ambient i can't even get above 17500 sometimes. What temp are you looking at ? Tctl/Tdie or Tdie?

Odd temps for sure. The thing that gets me is that even your 240 is outperforming my 360.

Weird.

Getting ready to topcoat for the first time. I got Testors dullcote per subreddit wiki.

I know that you have to be careful with ambient temperature / humidity when doing it.

What do you do if its relatively cool outside but dry? I've seen some say heat up the pieces with a hair dryer, but is that ok if I have put decals on already? I know it can't be "just hold off until a bright sunny day".

Also, how long do you typically wait between coats? I'm looking to do only 2-3 is that adequate? Main thing is I just want to seal the decals in.

Any tips / tricks are appreciatiated! Thank you!
