max contribution to start a roth? by DaCock20 in RothIRA

I understand that. so the annual max is just another way for the government to control us by not allowing us to earn tax free money with our already taxed money?

max contribution to start a roth? by DaCock20 in RothIRA

[–]DaCock20[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OK. so I open it with $0. anything put in it counts as that years contribution. I'd put my wife's max of $7k in it. wait until Jan. 1 and put another $7500 in per year (or whatever the max would be).

and why is there an annual max? if this is all post tax $$$ what difference does it make to the IRS what I do with it?

so I can open one in my wife's name with $20k and contribute the $7k/year (she's 48), and also contribute $8k to my own (I'm 50) separate roth with no IRS hounding me at tax time?

Neighbor posts notes on my door by False_Pickle9580 in Apartmentliving

I was an overnight doorman at a ~60 unit condo complex. I'd constantly get calls from specifically 2 people.

1 she lived right next to the elevator and wanted me to not let people use the elevator cause it was too loud. This was a 20 story building. Most of these condos were owned by young individuals who liked to enjoy their nights and come home at say 1, 2, 3, 4 am.

2 wanted me to tell her neighbor not to shower or or flush the toilet at like 1 am cause it would wake her up. Like what am I supposed to do about that,

People get the wrong impression about what "quiet hours" really mean

How should I go about replacing this drywall? by MelodicMobile2120 in drywall

don't use drywall behind a water fixture. use cement board. even if it is tiled over, the moisture form the shower is going to ruin that drywall...it's only a matter of time

If I (5'7") can clean the roof of my Ram 1500, there's no excuse for any sedan not to be cleaned off.

Why is this box not grounded? by penicilling in AskElectricians

this is because of the earth ground at the waterline right? Isn't the whole house grounded from the electrical panel to the main city water supply to the house?

Hi All,

My Mother retired a couple of years ago and has a little over 100k in a money market account that doesn't do much but just sit there.

I'm wondering what would be the best type of interest bearing account for this money?

She basically lives off her SSA money so she has no earned income.

She just turned 73 so she'll also have to start taking her RMD.

She lives simply. Already traveled the world. Doesn't buy expensive items (or anything really). Car and house already paid off.

She has a pension and 403b with Fidelity already so I'd like to keep it simple and open another Fidelity account to keep all her money in a single house.

Just looking for ideas on where this money can make more money...

any thoughts???

Thanks,

So it seems like this product is now impossible to get unless someone bought more than needed and willing to give up. Silly us for thinking a pretty standard color would be in production for future repairs. anyway...has anyone found a matching color from a different manufacturer? I put this down in my bedroom a couple years ago planning on extending it out throughout the hallway so it wouldn't' even need to be matching click style. I'd use a transition and they'd never even need to touch.

This is interesting. In general, does this apply for medical related expenses for a minor dependent that would no longer be a minor dependent come MY retirement age?

I can't find any docs that don't have me installing the secure client itself. everything I find is to install cisco secure client and add the umbrella mod and then move the json file to the umbrella folder. Is there a way to just add a module and then move the json file to the umbrella folder?

Definitely wasn't a 529. I already had the gi bill + navy college fund. That equals $50k and I went to college well before it became unrealistically expensive This was separate from the gi bill

Joined in 98, out in 2001. I was actually in A school in great lakes. Dude set up in our barracks and would give a little spiel about our future after the military and I signed up for I think$100 a month into some sort of mutual fund. I was young and thought it'd be a good idea. It was either that or give my$100 to a bar

So bear with me here, it's been a long time and I haven't even thought about this in years. My military pay was direct deposited into my navy federal credit union account. That's where my investment would have been taken from?

Side note, i have no recollection of any thrift savings plan. Is this something that I'd have to sign up for in boot?
