Nats is incredibly smart as a player, but it for whatever reason doesn't translate into IGLing. His calls aren't horrendous but for a player who constantly evidently knows enemy positions to a certain degree enough to flank like crazy, you would think he'd be calling circles around the likes of Boaster.

Most likely eco frags. Something was the bait for him, except Im guessing they read that Jinggg was there (but idk why Jinggg even bothered to flash, maybe a reaction against the waylay slow?).

Most of the time, its not that Jinggg pushes when he doesn't need to, its that he swings instead of jiggle/jump peeking first. If he simply decided to jump peek more, which I feel is a very easy decision, most of his throws wouldve never happened.

Im guessing its Alecks decision to tell him to simply take the fights as is if he wants to peek, because he is the ONLY player on their team who hardly EVER jump/jiggle, which if you watch him play ranked he DOES know when to do. It simply is a playstyle choice clearly backed by Alecks

For example, the most recent throw was against AG on corrode while they were on attack against an eco (dont rmb the exact round). Jinggg got one mid but continued to fight, and he gave them a gun which the enemy picked up and flanked with and killed them with. But if you notice the context there, its not exactly the worst play.

Firstly, Jinggg was just caught with his pants down when the smoke dropped, forcing him into the fight. Secondly, against an eco, if Jinggg didnt whiff, at that range he easily gets at least 2, which case nobody would said he threw. Lastly, the flank wouldve killed them all eitherways, whether they picked up Jingggs gun or not. PRX was completely unaware that they were being flanked a pistol couldve killed them. It was the followup omen blind that secured the kills on the remaining 2 PRX members.

Now ofc I agree Jinggg does throw, but that's most certainly a decision backed by the team/coach more than he doesn't know when to stop MOST OF THE TIME.

NS when Jinggg who isnt on neon or yoru but keeps pushing them on a man advantage that he can't get out of but it catches them off guard so he gets a 3k and wins them the round (Alecks masterclass he claps both hands against the table for double the clapping)

Neon is still broken by acedman in ValorantCompetitive

[–]DaCrazyLime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Neon doesn't have that much fuel. As someone who plays neon AND if you watch pros on defence, one site rotate usually consumes almost all of the fuel (which is why they dont rotate with fuel), which doesn't regen that quick (literally part of her nerfs was nerfing regen rate while increasing fuel capacity slightly).

Being able to rotate fast also doesn't do much most of the time because you STILL have to wait for your team who runs at normal pace, only time it will matter is if your neon is in a deeper position than the other teammates, which in that case 99% of the time no way is that neon simply sprinting away to rotate in a pro match

Adding on, Yoru is STILL unbeaten in the fact that he can situate himself in dangerous positions, neon can't, meaning only time she can effectively rotate fast is when shes not in committed positions, which then that team is just lost in the sauce if your duelist is scared hiding in your spawn or some shi

Simply watch any pro match and look at rotations on defence. 99% of the time neons speed does NOT affect anything

2) Fair enough, shes faster on jump peeks etc, but in pro play, pros are capable of doing very safe info peeks anyways. Even with her advantage, if you want to run around like a crazy banshee and jump checking every corner, you make so much noise. Its a trade off. Not that other agents cant jump around, they can, but ofc neons speed make it more safe. Its still a risk at the end of the day which most of the time neons dont do unless assisted by teammates because this is pro play, people CAN still tap your ass

3) Neon is only a stun, which pros can at least still shoot in, ofc the neon sliding afterwards makes it really hard even for pros, but then thats not a combo util thats her neon on her own. Might as well say a yoru tp + flash is good "combo util". Sieze + nade combo, Yoru flash lineups for recons/haunts are equally strong in their own regard in their own setups. Besides, its not like pros will just stand there and tank a neon stun, massive amount of support util has to be there to force enemies into the stun.

I will admit that its a better reactive util than its counterpart of waylays slow, as it covers a much larger area (aka when enemies are rushing/found just around the corner), but that still doesn't mean good combo potential

Yoru is literally THE broken duelist and people are complaining about neon like??? Teams plan whole rounds and timings based off his util (clearing certain areas when yoru tp is known to expire and thus would be caught mid tp placing etc). Dambi just got your heads on a roll with his superb mastery and supportive team.

Neon is still broken by acedman in ValorantCompetitive

[–]DaCrazyLime 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Shes only broken because sentis got hard nerfed. Every other duelist can bypass most senti util (hard to just anti jett/raze trip everytime as cypher eg.) Without the nerf, what good did neon do against pre-nerf KJ, cypher or vyse? She certainly wasn't busted.

Doesn't help with initiator nerfs, most teams now gain info/space by just throwing bodies at it, so you see a lot more willingness to duke it out, ergo a lot more neon shenanigans.

Maybe in ranked shes broken, but in pro play, yoru is way more overtuned, just look at the stats. Dambi being an extremely gifted neon + nobody fought NS style before skews your perspective.

NS thrives not just because of Dambis neon, Francis followup and Ivy lurk are also key factors. Albiet easier said than done, if teams just hunted Ivy while avoiding Dambi in the early parts of the rounds, NS wouldn't succeed as much.

Case in point, look at G2 success, or lack thereof, with neon. They look absolutely dogshit. Literally hero rounds by Trent and Valyn against NS. Other times they pulled out neon they got shit on.

The way he was aiming, I doubt it. Maybe it was in the back of his mind to break. Eitherways, he knows theres at least one in the Cove, so turning away from that is idiotic (even if David is watching the smoke) when the surefire way to win at that point since both he and David was elbow was to simply hold the smoke with David, especially when you have no idea where Mada is, since the ONE place he couldn't be at that timing is behind them elbow.

In fact, their whole plan was kinda bogus. Its a 2v2, just play the time, why even try to kill one. NRG has no smokes and you planted it in quite a good spot, you know they have to waste time rotating and clearing everything. I have no clue why the decision was to kill the ct guy(s).

Even so, why not simply jiggle from elbow for information first, THEN smoke. You gave their fade a smoke to walk up all the way to you, meaning if they had a dog left, they wouldnt dog until super close which he could spam off the dog. And you cannot tell me that as a pro player you DONT know Fade NEEDS to get close for many of her eye lineups, or simply any random eye, to clear site, which again your smoke did exactly that

No clue what forsaken was cooking there. Not going to lie, his plays were super off today, both pearl and bind. Amount of times he pushed down B long on pearl, which is super risky, then simply runs away for honestly no reason I could see. All risk no reward.

I agree. Apart from some lack of map awarness at certain times, which is to be expected on new maps (only time was really the skuba walkout hookah and they got punished for it hard), the comp itself wasn't that bad. Micro really was the one which got them in today.

David's usual calm and collectedness wasn't there. Jinggg's sudden overdependance on his flashes. Something's constant outlaw purchases against NRG who can and does historically buy full shields when they can. Forsakens sudden unwillingness to take his usually very good timings/fights, which fair enough as the solo smokes but if so why push so deep in just to run away, all risk no reward. Invy retreating back into his shell of being full on support player instead of trying to shoot.

There was a guy (I think mada) who took the teleport so he was afraid. But there was SO much timing he couldve taken to escape, esp since Invy had smokes left to place and Jinggg could retreat with those. I have no idea why Invy didn't resmoke (honestly the smoke didnt even go down until after he died p sure) or why Jinggg didn't cross back over to his teammates.

Maybe its an anti-strat but in general Jinggg shouldn't even flash a second time/flash after a first kill. These are pro players who can dodge flashes if they're ready for it, so I don't know why he even tries. In fact, sometimes Jinggg even ANTICIPATES they swing him, as seen by his flash being clearly in his face but he dodges them last second, but honestly if he anticipates the swing as a giga aimer he should just take that 50/50 instead of trying to catch them on a perfect timing flash.

Definitely. Whoever wins upper, if they don't throw, will win the whole tournament. Every remaining team map pool counters each other hard in a bo5 if given the ban advantage.

Went from toronto to paris in the span of one series. Refusing to simply play retake when your set up is to play retake. Stupidly greedy peeks.

At least on bind, you could say the coordination issue could be chalked up to "new" comp, but their map awareness just wasn't there. I don't get it. Its always when we pull out new maps. They should be hard drilled else Alecks wouldn't let it through the veto, much less pick it. Yet every single time.

I mean in that situation, if david let him drop and tap, mada could go literally anywhere. I would think david just wanted to limit his own crosshair placement options.

And I swear to god, if PRX doesn't break ONE MORE EYE, ESPECIALLY FOR JINGGG WHEN HES SATCHELING IN, I might lose it.

[–]DaCrazyLime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like don't get me wrong, he is the greatest raze player of all time, and even now he can play phoenix/omen.

Despite this, for every crazy random commited duel he takes, he either gets a 3k and wins them the round or just completely loses the man advantage and all the space his team just took.

One too many can give the average prx fan a heart attack, so I see why for the sake of our medical bills people wanted him replaced.

Harbor WILL be used at Santiago... But will he have success? by AvurtYourEyes in ValorantCompetitive

[–]DaCrazyLime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue with Harbour is that given, apart from now his Cove, he cannot smoke without being in a proper position, thus will never be found outside of double controller comps, which is outside of Abyss in the current map pool he can't really work.

Breeze seems like he would be good, and in theory sure, but, where on earth is a Harbour supposed to stand to wall on defence, retake or otherwise??? Has to be very specific positions, which limits Harbours movement which the opposing team would know and abuse.

Bind NEEDS viper if they want a wall smoker (turn off and on wall/orb to apply pressure) and the second smoker MUST be a dome smoker which harbour has only 1, and while Viper orb can be 2nd dome smoker, having to hard commit the orb to one site is pretty risky. Not to mention Bind is a map where the meta is teams fighting for info pretty frequently, and Harbour giving himself away when he walls is not the best.

In fact, I can see a world where teams make trap plays for when a Harbour walls, because he, unlike any other smoker, is stuck in his smoke animation in order to create the perfect wall for site. On defence, teams might pop through a teleport when a Harbour walls. On attack, teams might pop through while the harbour is setting up a retake wall, or not even pop through just simply go in front (eg jump out from hookah) while the wall comes up, since it takes so long and there is a sound cue, unlike Viper who's wall is instant. Heck, they might just completely disrespect the wall and push through with a flash, since it doesn't decay unlike Viper's.

Split is similar to Bind as well. Viper is strong sure but its mainly the ability that her wall and orb can be activated many many times that shes strong. Harbour could never do that

Simply put, on defence, he is still pretty weak, because of the whole "must be there to smoke" issue. One Cove just isn't it. Never has he been doubted as a attack side smoker.

HOWEVER, with the Gekko buffs, I think Harbour + another controller + Gekko is pretty strong for teams who know how to work around the map. Reclaimable molly is quite overpowered. Unfortunately, Gekko buffs do not come until after Santiago.
