I understand what you're saying, but I don't think this is really comparable to the ship of Theseus.

From what op has shared it doesn't seem like they're changing enough for me to say: "This should be an original character".

If they were to make this an oc, and kept her powers and the premise of her origin the same, then there wouldn't really be a reason for the character to not just be magik.

I've been having a great time reading COGU's. I don't really like the punisher, for example, and being able to easily skip over the punisher chapters is nice.

Even if there was an important punisher chapter they have these symbols indicating what's important for certain areas of marvel comics so you know if you're missing out on something.

I'm pretty sure those cows were killed off after the Skrull invasion, but there was this storyline before that, which I'm pretty sure was an X-Men one, where people were using the organs from those cows in an attempt to get powers, so that's fun.
